If they plan on making Roblox take advantage of multi-core processors, why not have a 64-bit version of Roblox on top of that as an extra bonus? This would not cause any extra confusion to the end-user, because Roblox.exe would automatically detect if the user's operating system was 64-bit. If it wasn't 64-bit, Roblox.exe would simply download the regular 32-bit version. To detect if the end-user's operating system is 64-bit, you could use a function such as IsWow64Process. The only problems I see with this would be with hash-checking - but Roblox could implement two hashes fairly easily, right? Also, in Visual Studio, I'm pretty sure that there's a one-click option to compile it to 64-bit.
Opinions? |

| Finally, an educated, reasonable suggestion. I don't have a 64-bit machine, but you seem to have everything thought out, down to the functions used to do it. Support. |

| I think it's a good idea and then people with 64-bit machines would be able to run Roblox better. Right? |

@Shobobo99
That's the exact reason for this. For example, take any popular archiving software that's CPU intensive - i.e 7-Zip, WinRAR, and they both have a 32-bit and 64-bit edition. Roblox should do this too. |

And ROBLOX runs just like I did on my other laptop (NOT a 64-bit) as it does on the one I have now (A 64-bit).
I see no differences whatsoever. |

Roblox would make no difference whatsoever on a 64 bit machine or with 64 bit code. The whole point in 64 bit code is to achieve memory greater than 4GB which is capped in 32bit. Roblox on the other hand doesn't require any more than 500MB system ram at a time, which makes it a waste of time for the roblox programmers. As for the MB/GB references 1GB=1024MB. |

In regards to how easy it is to create a 64 bit executable, I have a tool that I've used to convert games (Such as Skyrim) to have the >2GB address aware tag. It takes 20 seconds works extremely well so long as nothing tries to verify the application's integrity.
If I can convert any .exe into 64 bit, ROBLOX needs to to it too. There is no excuse.

When I run 64-bit programs, they run WAY faster, like double or more the speed. and I have 2GB of memory on win7. So its not just about extra memory. And: Support |

| Example: The Firefox 64-bit nightlies run WAY better than the releases or the 32-bit nightlies on my system, and they are not even optimized for 64-bit systems. Again, this is with 2GB ram. |

I don't think compiling ROBLOX as 64 bit would be hard, although I do't know too much about it, however I know I'd definitely love the performance boost.
So I'm all for it. |

| Maybe this will help those people who try to run roblox on a calculator. Man, is that annoying, especially in fighting games... |

@TheLuaWeaver Why would I create a new thread, if I can continue one that already has support?
@coolblox2334 There is no 64 bit version of Roblox, as 64 bit systems have Roblox within Program Files(x86).. Which is a different way of saying 32 bit...
@Buckeyeman0923 Would you like to be able to run the following place? As, the only way I would be able to is to have a 64 bit version of Roblox... http://www.roblox.com/--place?id=18924265 |

| This would be great! I have a PC with an Intel i5-2310 at 2.90Ghz, 8GBs of RAM and a Nvidia Gefore GT 610, yet when I play Battlefield 4, I can run it fairly smoothly (When recording with FRAPs) yet when I play Roblox i get some major framerate drops and overall slowness. This update would help so much in the long run. |
