What really saddens me is when a perfectly well done game is created and put on the front page for a couple of weeks only to be overlooked into obscurity because of freemodeled roleplaying games or cartride games that are rather mediocre and poor in gameplay fishing in all of the players.
I had an idea just recently that could probably help out Roblox's game page to include more diverse games and raise quality of the games. What if the admins were to put in a "Spotlight Section" on the front page? The spotlight section could include staff favorites and picks of games that deserve a chance to see the light of day. This section could have games featured in the Game Reviews with Maxxz series on Roblox's Youtube channel. The Spotlight section could have new games put in every 2-4 weeks to keep the games page fresh.
This section would lead players out of old repetitive games often seen in the Popular section on the front page. This idea will not eliminate roleplaying games for roleplaying players, everybody has different tastes in games, I understand that people do like these types of games. This idea could rather raise expectations for game developers who do like making roleplaying games or any game developer in that case to really actually work hard to make a successful game.

TL;DR?
No problem!
Front page has too many mediocre games, implement spotlight section in game page, spotlight section include somewhat better games chosen by staff, spotlight section lead players to these games, raises standards for mediocre games and game developers only looking for money, eliminate frauds and scammers, create better games and diverse game page. |

'chosen by staff'
How about letting the players have a stake in it? The mods could get 70% of votes whereas players get 30%. |

@Train;
No. Someone could pay a bunch of people to get his/her inapropriate game on the front page. OD'ers would vote for copied "Town of ROLBOX!" and "Make a baby!" games. |

I actually like the idea of a vote or poll. Maybe that could be done before the spotlight section is refreshed to put in more games.
The current game page though is sort of anything goes, all the games there are made popular by the Roblox community. So yeah of course I don't exactly always trust the community, and sort of their decisions because right now the games page is dominated by mediocre: roleplaying games, obbies, cartrides, etc. Also the demographics and all.
So if the poll is 70 to 30, I guess that could maybe work! |

| Well you can't change the demand on what people want to play. There is a large demand for those RPing games. People will play them no matter what. |

no. we don't need more roblox over-regulation ruining the game
a "bad game" is subjective. maybe you think hex, an incredibly well scripted game, is bad, because you got killed and got upset. |

| The idea is not really for like forcing players to play these other games it's really just a suggested games section but controlled by the moderators. I'm not sure if they still have it but I remember when you'd go on a game's page, on the bottom they would show other popular games. It's sort of like that but it's not based on what players play but it's a 'spotlight'. |

Seems like an intriguing and interesting idea. Maxxz's reviews aren't that great, considering most of the time he's one-sided when writing and narrating the review. He tends to look on the positives more often than not. Which is why I write reviews/going to on ROBLOX games.
But, there's one thing. What can we classify as a "successful" game? Is it a game with millions of views? Or is it perhaps a low-marketing game with good quality scripting?
Another way to propose the idea is to have the "Spotlight" section in all of the categories, Adventure, Horror etc. so that people of different tastes can enjoy their favourite genre. In the "Games" page itself, there could be a place where we could have something like the "Best of the Best" Spotlighted section for staff's picks. |

@Wind;
Based on what OP has said, a game could be resulted as 'bad' in the following:
-No real point to the game. This eliminates the 'Town of ROBLOX!' games. -Poorly built or scripted. -Not original.
This is also not meant to remove said games, but add another section to the front page.
This section would be hand-chosen by staff, with games that are original, fun, and acually have a point to them.
Games could be chosen as 'good' by the following:
-Original. -No bad material. -Good building and scripting. -A fun game overall. -Has a point to it.
People won't want to play games that aren't fun, most of the time. Games that don't have a point are either full of ODers, or just plain stupid.
One game I play is Hide and Seek by Lando64000. It's built well, scripted nice, fun, and has a point. |

How about this? Pay 1k ROBUX to get your game entered in the poll and people can go to another tab called Vote and you can vote on diffrent games and the few ones with the most votes gets spotlight. |

if roblox removes games that have no point than all the really good showcases would be removed.
