Just recently dawned on me that I must be doing something wrong, in terms of leading.
My greatest group, IH, survived 2011-2013 and had 1.1k members at it's peak, but still eventually died off due to inactivity in the members, and lack of brains in the HR positions. Throughout it's entire span, there was constant drama such as fuss over wars, people leaving, all kinds of the smallest things. Eventually, it got to the point where there was constant day-by-day arguments amongst the members, which escalated to cause problems that affected the entire group.
On average, IH had 5-15 members each event. In the few times there was no arguing, it was a fun group. People laughed and had fun; sometimes it was great and others it was not.
However, IH is not what I'm posting this thread about.
After IH died off, I went on to create a long string of other groups, ranging from development groups to role-play groups to clans; none of which lasted more than two months. I'm ambitious when it comes to making groups, and somehow I always find that urge to make another one, despite how they usually never make it more than a month.
So, tell me, as a leader, what makes groups succeed? I always have a small group of friends willing to start them up, but everyone eventually loses motivation after they die and a new one is made. Repeat.
What can I do to better myself as a leader, and to actually make one of my clans succeed? |

alright
The thing that drives a clan is community - that feeling of belonging somewhere, or at the very least a desire to belong.
That's what drove me to succeed in RAT, among others, and gave the clan a sort of goal. People have individual goals, but when a tantalizing feature is brought to them, consideration takes place.
A community of strong HRs and a bulk of numbers (sadly, yes - numbers meaning the faceless, nameless kids who will throw themselves at walls for your clan) will help immensely. Stability and lack of turmoil often helps.
And remember...
There is no such thing as bad publicity.
Good luck, have fun.

A person.
But anyways,
I led 2-3 clans. All good.
My advice for you is,
It's all about your determination.
Sure your friends/HRS have it, but they lose it when they notice deterioration.
The leader has to be keep his chin always up, telling them that it's not over.
If you love the group, put all of your effort in it. If you think you don't, the results will be shown |

| One of the problems is that they always die out before I have a chance to get places or even a community set up(new recruits). |

@marsilion
(I was, in my opinion, a newbag at the time)IH's hr system was the worst, you can't tell me it wasn't lol. Because it rarely recruited once it reached 1k members, and because not a lot of people were very dedicated, it got to the point where every active person was HR, and none of them ever hosted anything. I was the only one hosting, controlling it all.
It was by no means self sufficient and almost every person got to HR, no LR's were left. I have no clue how it was my best clan, but it was. |

And, one of my biggest problems is that
a. Never have a fair amount of robux, currently only 1.4k which isn't enough to do anything with a clan
b. Can never find a coder or builder who is cheap enough for me to dream of affording, and I can't script at all. I can build, but I always lose motivation when building. |

almost ready to give up on this clan stuff.
Roblox needs to support/create a clan system that is efficient. The clan points was ridiculous and really stupid.
I liked the territory conquest, what happened to that. |

| I agree 100% that ROBLOX needs to work on some more updates on groups. However, I really wasn't a fan of that whole territory conquest thing; but different people have different views. |

Not that long ago I had an active clan called Alpha Guard, had 20 members and 10 to events, which is good for a clan that size.
That too died off. |

| In my own case,if the leader is active enough, the members will be active;depend on how many members you have.Super clan in tend to be quite inactive. |

| My goal isn't to lead a superclan. It's to lead a small one but active, nothing that goes over a couple hundred members. |
