Hitboxes are parts in the player model(Or at least, their rectangular boundaries). They haven't changed-there isn't anything going on with the hitboxes being moved. They're still exactly what they were before.
The issues is actually server latency. ROBLOX either got new crappier servers or updated their old servers to be more crappy, and there's latency caused by the server to client. The server is where most of the scripts involving damage and hits is carried out for the most part. Since there's a bit of latency now, the server sees player models slightly ahead of where they appear to be on the client. This displacement means that while visually you might be hitting somebody, the server won't count the damage because it isn't registering what you see as hits as hits.
That being said, this mostly affects larger games, such as HEX. If you want to make this problem go away, make your game smaller or look for ways to reduce lag(eliminate unnecessary scripts, values, parts, etc.)

Recently I've seen multiple servers lagging and teleporting. |

they finally fixed interpoliation
and rolled back to everyone having it enabled
and since roblox settings on studio are broken asf
nobody can turn it off this time |

I'm not "on to something" This is the legitmate reason why this is happening. If you look at studio and outline player parts so it shows hitboxes in game, there's physically no displacement of the hitbox.

In all honest opinion I don't see why they would switch servers when the last ones were alright,
considering roblox usual logic of "not fixing it until broken", It just seems more logical they fixed interpoliation. |

They still glitch up on games like HEX but for most clan gun places they're fine right now. And I don't think they've fixed interpolation-they would announce that they have if that was the truth.
In my opinion it's almost certainly server latency caused by server updates. They were trying to fix one minor thing, then accidentally broke a major thing, like most of the problems ROBLOX has.

I don't think that they would announce that after a few months of breaking something they finally fixed it, it wouldn't look "good"... and I don't think a fix is "blog" worthy...
They usually post updates when they make something new or it improves what they currently have
ex: when they raised cap 60 FPS |
