Like its developers taking your money for unfinished products.
Products which half the time they seem not to finish, DayZ being king of them (30 quid for something that will never be finished. Sanctum 2 is 5x the game DayZ is and I got it for 7.50).

yeah it's kinda dumb that they sell early access for games they don't end up being finished
but i guess they choose the games that get sold under early access by which have the most potential
i don't know |

DayZ is bull it has been in development for 2+ years and nothing. On the other hand H1Z1 is taking the spotlight and at least there the devs listen to the community and do changes that benefit both the game and community.

Rarely does a thread in ROBLOX relate so closely to my personal ideas and interests, but when they do, they're in C&G.
I can't help but agree--not because the idea behind it is bad but because steam doesn't control it enough. Maybe it is because a set of standards would be difficult to moderate and maintain, but current early access could be made with premade videos of stuff that isn't even in the game with promises that it will be an no one holding them accountable for if they do or don't reach their goals that are promised to be reached.
In that way there is now a huge place for scams and laziness. There are countless cases I can think of where early access and kickstarter projects are abandoned once the company earns its money.
And quite frankly, I don't trust the consumers to be able to make the differentiation between a game that they want to support and a game that they want to play. |

Ah, Kickstarter.
I gave up on that after Revolution 60.
The lass bought a motorcycle with "leftover" donation money. Don't think it was kickstarter but still. That's also so easily abused.
But yea, Steam needs a way to moderate early access more. No ideas on the spot but a multi million dollar company probably could have a few ideas. |

The big issue is follow through. Early access games should at least have a published plan of the direction and goals of the game.
Now, to wait and see if kickstarted wasn't a complete disaster, we will have to see how Star Citizen turns out. |
