Remember the days when clans would get together, rally, attend trainings, and attack the enemy base? Working together and achieving success? But if you didn't manage to achieve success, you lost. And people were worthy enough to accept the fact that their enemy won.
Everybody wants to win. Every war group leader wants their team to win so they can achieve their victory and celebrate. And if you lost a raid against your enemy, you didn't claim victory. People would move on from their losses and work harder together to regain their success, so they can counter-attack the other clan.
But you see, people today forget that. People don't remember that if you lose, you lost, and their enemy won. The funny thing is, people can remember though that if you win, you claimed the victory. And it is clear that for the people who don't accept failure but accept success, they are the ones that are self-centred and lack respect, friendship, and sportsmanship.
Of course, winning is the main goal in a war. But people have become so caught up with themselves that they forget about others, and focus on themselves thinking they're the ones that deserve to win. And if you lose, people *have* to ramble on and flame about "admin abuse" or "exploiting" or "terrible bases & technology". I think people have recognized a "war" against two teams as a verbal conflict, because that's all anyone ever can see at a base anymore. All it is, is flaming.
If you yourself can't think of "losing" as something completely alright, you need to change your way of thinking. If you "lose" a battle, how difficult is it to just say okay? Shouldn't your next goal be to work harder and train your soldiers into determining the next winner? Wars have become verbal wars now, and that shouldn't be the way we think anymore. Who cares about what type of gun you're using? Who cares about the structure of the base?
When I wrote "Who cares about the structure of the base", and "Who cares about what type of gun your using", I can assume that you problaby thought of how "people should care because it can be unfair and they'd be advantaging themselves to a greater chance of winning". People are so caught up with winning that you'd simply give your team a greater chance of winning than the opposite team?
Each team needs a 50% chance of winning. No less, no greater. That's another problem. A lot of group leaders out there just give their team a greater chance of winning than the opponents. If you do that, you should be ashamed of yourself. You lack so much leadership if you do that, because I bet all you would care about is yourself, your team, and being victors in a battle, and no real leader would just let their team have an easier time at winning.
And if your raiding a base that is unfair, why do you bother flaming? You're just starting a worthless argument. Just say okay. People don't recognize that they can simply move on to another base by someone else that has equal advantages for both teams. They continue to fight in that unfair base, rather than leaving it and going to somewhere fair.
Raids are boring these days. I have to say that for sure. Groups lack activity, problaby because they too can recognize that clans are lacking fun. The two teams in a war begin to flame, insult, and ramble on about pointless things, instead of actually helping out your team fight against the others. If you are the kind of person that accepts a loss, and moves on, rather than starting a verbal conflict, then you should continue to do what you're doing and be proud of yourself. This is simply a virtual game. Team vs Team isn't some type of battle that should be considered "serious". Clans lack sportsmanship towards everyone, and nobody wants to be in a negative environment full of conflicting.
It should simply be fun. Bring back the real meaning of war groups. Just enjoy your battle against the other team, and once it's finished, congratulate the winning team and the losing team, since they both tried. If you can't do this, then you are just one amongst many other average leaders who lack real leadership. Why would you put yourself through a full on verbal battle? Bringing back fun is something so simple to achieve. But people don't bother to do so because they isolate themselves to "win".
Just have fun. That's all that has to be done. If you lost, your goal should be to continue to train your soldiers, and counter-attack to claim your victory, rather than arguing like children. Fun can be brought back so simply, if you just improve your sportsmanship, C&G.

I'm simply stating my opinion here. I'm sure there are a lot more reasons to why the fun is lacking, but these are some of the reasons I think contribute to it.

No, we all don't "suck". It's just people don't bother to actually read the thread and get the message.

Supporting this. This is exactly the reason to why clans are so annoying these days.

It'd be nice if instead of taking matters directly to C&G, things could be worked out in other channels.

Support.
But when others don't agree with this, flame, and hate..
What's the point in trying to have fun, when a lot of people will just flame and disagree.
And also a lot of people find stuff that isn't focused on being fun, fun.
You know, themes, roleplay, that stuff was great.

It's not clans who do this, it's the people.

I agree. Bring back the ways of the old and re-mix them with the ways of the new.

I'm going to continue to bring this thread back up so people will notice this. Over time, hopefully, if people actually get the message of this thread they will do something about it, but I doubt that would happen.

This right here was what Providence was built on. Original foundations that Ro-Force, a clan I was SiC of for 3 years strive to do.
I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this. |
