@Oue

I want to read Brave New World, too.

I read 1984 but it made me sick to how discriminatory it was towards the entire left.

One of my friends is a Percy Jackson fangirl. The series does look interesting. I watched the first movie and it was pretty good.

I would like to read that one too. Fahrenheit 451 and 1884 are also on my list of books I want to read.

I haven't read 1984 yet, I also have that one lying around in my library.

I'm interested in acquiring "The Ego and Its Own", but I'm having problems with it.

@dav

I know kids in honors and AP classes who do that. Don't ask me how they're passing the class.

I was in an honors class last year (sophomore year; I'm a junior now) and we had to read the Scarlet Letter, and I was one of maybe 5 kids who actually read the book without the usage of Sparknotes.

Series I've read that are great-
Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan - 6 books
Warriors by Erin Hunter - 30+ books and counting
Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - 3 books
Divergent by Veronica Roth - 3 books
Maximum Ride by James Patterson - 9 books
Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan - 3 books

and I also recommend Frindle just as something fun to read.

@dav, I enjoy Cervantes, Federico Garcia Lorca, Ruben Dario and many many under-appreciated spanish writers and ESPECIALLY POETS

the language itself is perfect for poetry

@Ouen

I have never heard of The Ego And Its Own. I'm currently tackling the entire Warrior cats series, which is going to take me a long time.

My personal reading list:
Every Warrior cats book
1984
Fahrenheit 451
The Tempest
A Christmas Carol
War of the Worlds
The unabridged version of the Time Machine (I meant to read that and accidentally read the abridged version)
Many others

My school library contains many of these books, but they are the "literary analysis edition" (in other words, literary critics interrupt the book to insert commentary about what a particular passage means).

I am currently reading the Warriors series (currently still stuck in the New Prophecy arc since I haven't had much time). Great series though.
