He was 100% anonymous in the AFC Cup Final against South Korea and we were still the better team by miles (same in the semis with the UAE). With guys like Luongo, Oar, Leckie, De Silva from Perth Glory and more on the way, Cahill will be useless by the time 2018 comes around.
Japan don't have anyone right now besides Kagawa and Honda, and they got knocked out in the AFC Cup when they didn't play well. When Timmy didn't play well, guys like Oar, Leckie, Kruse and Luongo stepped up massively. Japan, South Korea and a lot of the other teams don't have that depth. I'd say only Iran do. |
