Honestly I like the way romantic languages sound better, but I don't like the grammar. With Germanic languages I slightly like the way it sound and love the grammar. Why?
With Germanic you don't have to put up with gender agreement bullcrap (not hard but annoying at times) and putting the word "it" and other pronouns before the verb, and 100 verb conjugations that we have to remember.

Sorry to burst your bubble but High German which is the language spoken in Germany today has gender words ein is a or an when it's either gender neutral or male IIRC and eine is if it's female I think einen is also an Like Ich bin ein Mann(I am a man) Ich bin eine Frau(I am a woman) Ich istt einen Apfel(I am eating an apple) these should all be correct if duolingo is accurate at all and I didn't forget

Ok maybe I was wrong on gender agreement lol. But my main problem is having 1000 verb conjugations. I just started Swedish on Duolingo:
Jag ar en man (I am a man) Jag ar en kvinna (I am a woman) Jag ater ett apple (I am eating an apple) Jag ar en pojke (I am a boy) Jag ar en flicka (I am a girl) |

Germanic languages are easier opinion, if you speak English as a first language. Dutch and German are easier, but Dutch, in my opinion, is very easy. I've learned a little.
Winning since 1776. |

Also Swedish generally doesn't have gender agreement. The reason you saw "jag ater ett apple" is because apple has a vowel sound to start with so it's ett instead of en (like a/an in English). |

The Romance Languages that stemmed from Latin are all pretty good.
Spanish, Italian, Romanian, French, a massive amount of English, I like the Romantic Languages a lot more than the Gothic Languages (technically English is a Gothic Language like German, but well over half of English can be traced to Latin or French) |

Romantic languages
I might be bias, but there's some much more ways to manipulate them
They also have weight when it comes to emotions |

I've become obsessed with Germany lately, since I had to write a 15 page report on it. I've been getting into some German bands, namely Blind Guardian, and started learning German. Does this make me a Germaboo or a badass

"My teacher for Latin is like the best too he also supervises the gaming club and plays the ukulele"
oh my god the latin teachers at my school are the best too
my current latin teacher is pretty much a crazy old woman but a good kind of crazy, the teacher also acknowledges that different students have different methods of learning, so we use all methods of learning. visual learning, learning by hearing, interactive learning, singing purposefully corny songs to help us remember the conjugations endings, writing them down, it's great
after we took the semester 1 final before winter break, we all got to chose a holiday themed christmas coloring sheet with latin text on it and color it in with crayons for fun

my heritage is of about 5 or so countries, 100% of which is european, but most all of it has been German
germany is an amazing country, i actually use a proxy that makes my google and youtube have german, often times my roblox page is roblox.de, it actually helps me naturally understand what the german words are saying
all languages and cultures are just overall a lot of fun to explore, i used to take french class but its curriculum and especially its teacher ruined that for me |

Lol you're just a badass. Last year when we started learning about the French Revolution and Napoleon and France, I started getting obsessed with French. That's partly why I'm learning it now. |

speaking of Napoleon, did you know that the German flag's colors represent the colors of a volunteer militia who fought in the Napoleonic Wars? The black stripe represents their black coats and pants, the red stripe represents the red braid they wore, and the gold stripe represents their gold buttons.

i think you're right, morbid curiosity is probably why
learning about the Roman Empire really made me take a lot more of an interest in a language that i already was really interested in |
