Ok, so, lately, I've started to develop a disliking toward the kids who I've been friends with for the past two years. It all started with the salmon-related thing (for those of you who remember that. I'm not going to elaborate). None of my friends at school did anything about it. One of them playfully lectured the guy for it, but other than that, nada. I felt a bit insulted by the lack of support, but then I started thinking about things my friends have done in the past (and will be doing in the future).
- My best friend told me that he wasn't going on the field trip to D.C., which is a week long. I decided not to go, too, because I figured that we could hang out together. I mean, with him around, I was guaranteed not to be alone. However, at the last minute he decided that he was going to go, meaning that now I'm going to spend a whole week at school alone. None of my other "friends" are staying behind.
- They all forced me to do a group history project with them instead of letting me opt out of it. I have 3 siblings for those of you who remember. I was forced to have 5 boys all over at my house for 2 1/2 hours, even though none of them have as many siblings just because they were too lazy to invite other people over to their houses. I had to inconvenience my parents with having them over.
Like, I mean, if I break it off with them, it's not like I'll be friendless. I have a bunch of friends at fencing and don't mind them being my permanent friends. None of my "friends" have bothered to try to get my number except for my best friend (who did that like 3 years ago). In fact, I never interact with them outside of school, anyways...
tl;dr: I'm just conflicted as to whether or not I should be friends with kids at my school or not. |

Yeah. My only problem is that the last time that this happened...ugh, the guidance counselor got involved, the principle got involved, etc.. This isn't 4th grade anymore, however, so I think that they can handle losing a friend... |

| You really shouldn't put up with people who don't treat you right. You should break it off. |

These things are actually pretty recent. I was good friends with them up until this year. I don't know whether I just became more aware of how awful they were treating me or if they just started this recently, but...
It actually might also be because I started to make new fencing friends. The people at my fencing place are such great friends that when I look at my school "friends" I just can't see why I stick around with them... |

Hm, alright.

I'm never going to see them again after this year, anyway, haha. |

I'm going to a different high school than them, and, judging by how they've been treating me, I really don't want to continue interacting with them after this. |

Friends can do really stupid things sometimes
But when you get older, you'll know if they're real friends or not. They'll break off from the ones that aren't really friends once you don't get to see them as much during school and such.
Excuse me, but that's inappropriate for school. |

Uh, thanks. I've kind of just been showing up sporadically.

I feel kind of bad because I actually have one good friend out of all of them, but I know that he would stick with them instead of me given the choice. |

I mean, I can't even sit near the kid who did the thing involving salmon anymore. I kicked him in the shin earlier today just because he was sitting across from me, swinging his feet around, and kept bumping into me. |

Wow, dang, you guys must have had a heck of a lot of fun.
"they're just using you imo"
I don't think they're using me, I just think that they're inconsiderate...and not like me. Like, if I see someone as my friend -- as my real friend -- I'll make an effort to be with them, and none of them make that effort to be friends with me. It may be my fault, too, as I have not made an effort with them as I have with my fencing friends... |

I totally agree. I get the feeling that he's going to play the victim. |
