[Guide] Hello! Please enter your statements in the commentary below if you wish. Below I provide information on this specific topic, so you can have some background of information. ----------------------------------------------------------- Experiments on animals have dated back all the way back until the ancient empire of Greece. However, before animals were used for experiments, criminals were used for certain measures. Later on, experiments on human became illegal. Therefore, animals became the closest option. Unlike today, where some animals are used for cosmetics and household needs, animals were used to figure out the functions of our body. Moving on to our era, billions of animals (mostly mice) are used for experiments with a variety of reasons. The Animal Welfare Act only protects 5% of the animals used in experiments, so this basically means animals can be abused in experiments. However, some argue animals are a better option than risking human lives. Many counter argue, animals are used for cosmetics to see if there would be any form of issue before applying to skin. Although Britain has banned animals for being exposed to cosmetics, there are many countries who allow it. The scientific community claims they are trying to limit the amount of pain the animals feel, and in some cases are given pain relief medicine. Although, there has been many forms of cures in which have saved American lives to help fight against other illnesses. Baby animals are sometimes used to test if the immune system can handle certain medication, to simulate a human baby. |
