@dorada, Do you also get anxiety when people ask you questions? I always want to over-explain everything like I'm used to in real life But I just can't do it I always give some vague answer and feel bad about it afterwards |

I used to be shy to new people too I don't remember how I got over it, but I remember I just slurred and used formal language with everyone
If I get too friendly every 3 words there is a swear (it's the local dialect anyways)
Speaking in English isn't a problem for me, though. Everyone in my family speaks English so I don't have the problem and even have this weird variation of Spanglish which I consider my first language (hah, i know).
How did you learn English? |

Ah, I see ROBLOX taught me how to write in English at a pretty good level, so I appreciate it for that.
And yeah, I'm not expecting anything good from education here. You get taught English since 6 here as well, but it's plain awful.
After countless years of just sleeping through English I found out we're just learning about "Friends" and the vocabulary that comes with it right now.
It frustrates me.
I think all variations of Spanish has the 1 out of 3 words are swears rule That's the art of this beautiful language.

Dah, being new is always hard. My teacher lets me do whatever the hell I want as long as I don't give out the answers/help people cheat.
He's known me for about... 3-5 years now? Don't remember when I transferred to this school
You always get the same teachers from grade 7 and up |

here in all high schools: new year, new teachers
so when you get used to a teacher's exams, a completely different one comes |

Sounds like a fun system, but you really don't get to know your teachers well :[ How does school work in Spain? I'm genuinely curious |

i think it has a system no other country does
ages 3-6: kindergarden (not mandatory, you only learn how to write and read, play the rest of the day) 6-12: primary school(mandatory) 12-16: high school(mandatory until you're 16, if you get past 16 and dont finish high school you can leave it forever) 16-18: pre college (not mandatory, this is needed so you get an average note so you can enter in a certain university) 18+: college
you also need to be 18 and a high school diploma to be able to get a driver license |

Hm, pretty unique system, never seen one like that before. School only gets to 11th grade here for some reason, so that's a party pooper.
And lol, that's weird about the driver's license.
Is Spanish college good? Worth it? Are the 2 pre-college years good?
Honestly, I've been waiting for that sephardic jew law to come out in Spain and just get damn citizenship. I feel like scum for exploiting the system, but I want to try it out. |

well right not spain has economic problems so lots of graduated students cant find any jobs, so they go to germany or something. however they get really well prepared in those colleges
and i dont know about the pre college years, not much information about it on the news, but if you dont do them you cant go to college
i forgot to mention that if you dont do those pre college years you can do FP(professional formation) that is also 2 years
this allows you to have pretty poor jobs(basically people who arent so intelligent, and cant success pre college, but making them still able to work) like a mason or nurse |

Ah crap then I have limited time to think about this
I really hope the job situation gets better in Spain, I like the European mediterranean at a personal level. It looks like a place full of life, unlike places like Germany.
I really don't want to go to the US, but it will be my destiny if I don't make up my mind. |

i dont live in the mediterranean part
spain has a lot of cultural differences
i live in the north west, where its rainy or snowy 365 days/year and it looks hella like canada, there are no bulls to be seen or flamenco or wathever. |

I know about the cultural differences and I know the stereotypes aren't real (tacos aren't the only food in latin america, not everyone is mexican).
But the general "latin" state of mind everyone has in South France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece (to some extent) makes me feel comfy and home-like.
Northern Euro countries are cold (literally and figuratively) in comparison. |

What do you consider the best autonomous community in Spain? My father says it's Catalonia. It would be nice to hear the opinions of an actual local. |

catalonia wants to be independent of spain, because of the economic problems, im not sure if its a good decision or not. i dont think so because they would have to pay more for trading stuff. since they dont have anything.
and the best autonomous community? i dont really know, i guess my favourite is mine, galicia, it gets lots of money from tourists as the city i live is one of the most visited on europe i think, and also because its mine lol, i havent been outside of galicia, so i dont really know.
maybe Madrid, just because its the most important |
