I'd like to bring this to you guys first to see how you feel.
I've known this for a while, but it seems others do not. The 'http://www.roblox.com/groups/join' page is what is shown to new users who click on the 'Groups' tab on the sidebar. You will notice that many groups are repetitive throughout the categories listed, and it's all because of a glitch being abused.
Groups like FEAR, VS VE, USA, and BWE have been abusing this glitch by posting tags at the bottom of their description like the following: "Military, Military, Military, Military, Military, Military, Building, Building, Building, Building, Building, Building, Fan, Fan, Fan, Fan, Fan, Fan, Fan, Roleplaying, Roleplaying, Role"
These were placed to ensure their spot on each topic-related slider, regardless of their relevance to that topic or not. I'd like to see the web team administrators patch this glitch in order to give groups their deserved spotlight.
I believe that group leaders should have the option to pick or set one specific category which best applies to their respective group. This can be done a series of ways, one being a drop-down bar in the group admin panel that lists the applicable categories.
I admire the urge to bring new faces into groups, however, I believe it is be brought forward the incorrect way. Gaining members should be show far more value than merely spamming tags and pasting them on the bottom of your group's description.
If you disagree with this post, feel free to post why.
Thanks for your time! |

@heydude
I'm not sure that the purpose of this system is to highlight the 'best' groups in that category. Rather to recommend to other users a compiled list of clans that other individuals have joined. (obviously based upon member count) |
