Hey!
I'm Mallard, and I'm going to post my playoff predictions for Week 9, in what is a pretty important week in the final picture. I've backed up all my picks with a detailed explanation, to try to make it as least biased as possible. If you disagree, feel free to correct me on the comments!

SPARTANS @ RAMS
Yeah. This is going to be an intense game. Both teams are familiar with one another, but the Rams blew a lead to the SPARTANS last week, which was definitely a morale killer. That won't happen back to back times. Rams will jump ahead to an early lead, and once the lead is too big, I think the lack of maturity from the SPARTANS will bite them, and it'll turn into a rout as they quit.
FACTOR FOR SPARTANS: Defense, defense, defense!!! Lebron isn't an elite top three quarterback, but he can do what's needed. He isn't Bunglest, Mack, he won't light it up and come back down 21, or put up 40 points weekly. The defense has been leaky as of late to put it nicely, they'll need to hold the Rams in check if they want to have a chance.
FACTORS FOR RAMS: Jynx (and the pass rush!): Lebron thrives, like Nighttrainn almost, in eluding the rush and extending plays until coverage breaks down and then burning you. For that reason, it's imperative the Rams keep him in check and contained. Also, it'll take a good game from Jynx to take out the hot Spartans. If he has a poor game, it's over.
49-28 Rams

Raiders at Ducks
This game will be extremely close. Both teams match up almost identically. Last game, the Ducks nearly stunned the Raiders running the ball with Accardi because Healable was suspended, running it every single play (no, literally.) Additionally, the Ducks have had two weeks to prepare and scheme for the Raiders. That's more. That, and Accardi will be the reason the Ducks scrape it out and win.
FACTOR FOR RAIDERS: DEFENSE! You need to have coverage hold up for more than three seconds, and get a decent rush on Heal. Heal will be a little rusty coming back after three weeks off, but if you give any quarterback forever to throw, especially one of Heal's caliber, it won't end well.
FACTOR FOR DUCKS: Healable. As I detailed in the previous factor, Healable will be a major factor. The Raiders will be ready for the run, so the Ducks will need to pass more after. The run game will still be effective, but if Healable can't get it started, the Ducks will go down with him.
Ducks win 28-24. --
OEC -- FFC vs Punishers
A great rivalry, no doubt. This is a down year for FFC, however. Their defense is amuck, offense is now a 1 v 7 (Mack vs all), and their is virtually no chemistry. Unfortunately, this game won't live up to its standards. Bung will exorcise his demons and not lose by one yard.
FACTOR FOR FFC: My god, everything. I stepped in to watch their pregame vs Raptors, versus 7-0 Raptors, and 30 minutes before the game there were TEN PLAYERS. Watching the game, everyone quit before the game started, defense was terrible, offense was terrible, and body language was terrible. I can't see how FFC rebounds from this, but hey, never sleep on FFC.
FACTOR FOR PUNISHERS: Play your game. Don't have FFC force you out of your gameplan, because that's when you're in trouble. FFC is so amuck, I think you just have to play an average game.
Bung will have no mercy to a struggling team in FFC.
42-8 (FFC forfeits in third) Punishers win.

[[[UPSET ALERT]]] Huskies @ Raptors
This is a game between the two Cinderella teams from last season, really. Who ever saw Raptors going 7-0, or Huskies making playoffs?
FACTOR FOR HUSKIES: Offense. The Huskies have an extremely underrated defense that rivals the Raptor's. However, their offense isn't so hot. They'll need to produce...or maybe they won't?
FACTOR FOR RAPTORS: Offense. You need to run it up early to Expell any chances of a Huskies win. But, with their defense, it's easier said than done.
Raptors have caught Huskies at a bad time....
16-10 Huskies (Tarheels makes a late game interception to end it and seal the upset)

"FACTOR FOR HUSKIES: Offense. The Huskies have an extremely underrated defense that rivals the Raptor's. However, their offense isn't so hot. They'll need to produce...or maybe they won't?"----------------- our offense kills our defense lol our offense is overpowered when we have every starter its like #2 offense in ofl xD

How would the Rams blow us out if we beat them by four last week? It will be a close game that can go either way on who will win...

i see huskies beating the raptors they're gonna pull a S3 Rams They were so cocky because they were so good and they think they will when this by a blow out. so they wont even try. Huskies have the motivation b/c this is their first playoff appearance, and they want to beat the top dog.

These predictions aren't good. They make no since. If Spartans beat rams last week how do you figure that rams will blow them out and make the quit in the 3rd this week? Don't you think Spartans will try harder this week because last week didn't really matter..

"How would the Rams blow us out if we beat them by four last week? It will be a close game that can go either way on who will win..." How is that cockey? I just said facts and then said both teams could win the playoff game. Every season game matters, btw.

Regarding SPARTANS maturity: Brought it up because I remember them being roasted for their maturity levels during year
Regarding Rams: I heard Rams blew the game and choked it out...that shouldn't happen twice..Lebron isnt elite QB, he won't put up numbers, SPARTANS defense isn't so hot and they will know much more about how to exploit SPARTANS defense now that they played them
Regarding my supposed dislike to FFC and Spartans: Hilarious. I actually love Mack and FFC, and am going to AHC there next year. SPARTANS are debatable.
FFC pick: FFC players know what I mean. Their practices are a mess, defense in general coverage wise is bad, and if you look at their games versus good teams, none of them have been good for FFC. This isn't the year. Raptors game could be easily, easily 50-13 but obviously FFC forfeited...Raptors cooled off and decided not to run up the score, that game exposed them
It's my opinion, I could easily be wrong |
