| @Ross if you actually read the main body of the thread you would understand how roblox uses tracking your IP in the wrong way... |

| They do not trace IP addresses! I hypothesize that the idiot posted the illegal remarks on a BC account he bought with a CredCard. CredCards require address and phone number and other personally identifiable information roblox can use to find their true identity to report to the police. |

@jumpy How do you know they don't tell the police? There's probably hundreds of minor terrorist threats each day but you only ever hear of the major ones.
Same with online dating, it really isn't significant enough to make a big deal out of it. |

1. They do which is how ip bans work
2. American websites are required to report ip addresses to the police if they break the law |

| I think it is more plausible that ROBLOX had personal information from a BC purchase. |

"Electronic Dating Age Limits Internet and telephone dating services customarily set a minimum limit of 18 for users. While social networking websites which are not exclusively devoted to dating often allow users younger than 18, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which went into effect in 2000, prevents Internet websites which are directed toward children under age 13 to collect personally identifiable information about users without explicit parental consent. Many social networking websites such as MySpace or Facebook simply prohibit children younger than 13 from using their services in order to avoid possible legal problems.

This is the closest thing I found on the matter. I think qui would be correct in stating that dating under 18 online is not illegal.
