It's a cold, rainy night you remark as you snuggle with a blanket and a cup of hot chocolate, overlooking the city. It's a nice, peaceful night in your room. It's remarkably like an ocean, with boats and blue walls. You've always liked the water, and you feel so much at home here. It's nice, for a change, to just relax. Looking over at the clock it's nearing one A.M. You don't feel tired enough to sleep.
It might be a nice night to go exploring. You've sat here for two hours, and while it's nice, there's a whole city out there for you to wander at 1 AM with the people like you.

You finish your hot chocolate a few minutes later. Not much has changed.

| You aren't sure why you would do something so silly. You live on the first floor so maybe... if you were wearing stuff that's not pajamas. |

| I wander out of my room in my pajamas, going along my way as I find my umbrella and shoes. I walk out the front door and take a step out of my door. |

[Pick's action was first.]
You change into a dark green dress with boots. It's simple enough to go out in the rain with, and could easily suffice with mud. You are actually rather proud of your picking in the dark of your closet skills.

You don't have an umbrella, but either way, the rain doesn't bother you. You exit into a carpeted hallway. It's very plush and covered in plastic plants. It was kind of nice. The walls were a simple yellow, and there is rows of doors down and up the hallway. Down the hallway is the main foyer where you can go exit outside.

(I'd like to try and add background music/ambience to the story, so here. http://tabletopaudio.com Choose the Dark and Stormy one for ambience.)
You walk down the foyer, whistling to yourself. The boy at the counter is completely knocked out cold, his phone sitting on the desk. Quickly walking through the foyer, you exit outside.
Outside is slippery and wet, with towering buildings and slick roads. There's only a few people out, maybe one or two on the street, right now. There are a few cars that sit by themselves, darkened and alone. It's a nice night to be out for a walk. Where shall you go?

You walk down the street. It feels relaxing to you, undoing hours of tension that you've had since you got fired from your job yesterday. It was peaceful for once, and you wish it could stay like this forever. A bitter wind starts from the east, so you literally follow the wind east.
The city grows wider, with trees and grass. There's several people strolling around and playing with their dogs in the park. It seems like a nice place to take a break.

You sit down on the wet bench, next to a boy palming a harmonica. The boy is literally a boy, probably no older than sixteen, wearing a tattered jacket, a red shirt, and jeans. He looks like he hasn't bathed in forever, and that the only reason why he isn't dirty is because of the rain that is pouring down. The boy glances at you, with some strange mixture of sadness and hope. He reminds you of yourself before you became who you are, someone you never wanted to be.

"You're awesome, and you deserve better than me." You say to the boy. He seems startled, and looks at you strangely. "D-do I know you?" He says, and then after a moment... "What did you say?"

You have no money, because you didn't bring your wallet.
You actually rule against hugging the boy. It's not right, you don't want to hug someone right now. The boy goes back to flipping his harmonica, a little blush rising on his cheeks. He thinks you're as far away as he is. He plays a tuneless bit on his harmonica, before lapsing back into silence.
