"TRUSTLESS ONE is a game where over 15 different, famous Robloxians are trapped on an island, and to escape, they have to MURDER eachother!
The scenario is based off of a game called Dangan Ronpa. Trustless One is a murder mystery visual novel with shooter elements. I call it a new genre because a visual novel on Roblox is almost unheard of!
The roster has people like Builderman and Matt Dusek, to Tinfoilbot and Shedletsky. The games main feature is the trials. This is where the shooter comes in.
In the trials, you have to be quick and basically shoot at various different words and evidence. It's very fast-paced and intense. The trials happen when someones murdered.
Otherwise, there are various different things you can do, like Buidling Friendships, where you become pals, or even enemies, or even netural, with the cast of the game.
The game is currently in the planning stages. Some more info will be out soon."

well heres what i got
first of all, consider your monetization model. will you be able to sustain any popularity your game gets via advertising? will there be content that players can buy? if you dont monetize well, your advertising budget will run out faster than you think, and youll be in an awkward situation to say the least.
also, abandon any thoughts of using the default roblox dialogue system. you need to write your own dialogues, ones which need to feel good to use and have intuitive controls. if youd like later on, i could probably script up a quick dialogue system for you.
consider your art assets. saying that its a visual novel doesn't give me much info; is it dating sim-like in style, where a hand-drawn character portrait is shown during dialogue? are you prerendering your scenes with roblox parts? what is your artistic ability? can you implement anything in the standard roblox style without the art clashing?
those are my 'right out of the gate' things for you to think about. |

@spiro thank you for all of your feedback. you just gave me a genius idea, thanks. the only thing people will be able to buy is gifts for the Building Friendships stuff, and the stuff can be unlocked ingame anyway.
i'm thinking of a good monetization model right now. i should have a good plan soon.
there is no WAY im using the deafult roblox dialogue system. it's definitely gonna be a new one-and sure, id love a quick dialogue system.
one of my best friends, daku, is a talented artist and will be doing the art for the game. instead of potraits shown during dialogue with others, roblox models will be shown, most likely, unless something happens.

id also recommend some pseudo dlc if things get particularly popular
your game seems to be single player, or at least single player 'focused'. so something like that later on may help breathe extra life into your game if need be. |

by dlc i mean things like mini campaigns or an expanded world. perhaps even a full expansion pack in the vein of diablo II. just some extra content which players can pay for after the full experience to continue enjoying the same sort of content if they want to.
i dont mean to say you should cut content to save it for 'dlc'. just add more if the game is successful.
this would lead to a very effective monetization model which would make the players not only feel like they're getting good bang for their buck, but also be able to pay what they want essentially. much like a f2p game with microtransactions, but rather than selling power or anything, you're selling a more expansive experience.
also, just gonna say, this makes me think a lot of phoenix wright in concept |

yeah, people say dangan ronpa is like phoenix wright a lot.
thing is, this game with dlc is kind of...impossible, because, go look up "dangan ronpa trial 1". there is nothing i can really add dlc for! because this game is hugely story-driven, so like, what could i add?

you can add things that flesh out character backstories, let you play from other characters' perspectives, and you could even go full blood dragon with it and make a new sub story in an entirely different setting
theres so much you could add ahah |
