Hey guys. I'm getting an error every time I try to union parts with that text. It also suggests offsetting the parts or unioning each part individually.
Anyway, I'm trying to union a solid part and a negative part. They're both rectangular prisms. They intersect at ~45 degree angle. Every time though, I get this error. Can anyone help me identify why?
I don't really know what offsetting means, but the parts only overlap a little bit.. And I'm only unioning two parts, so the second suggestion doesn't help. |

| It's exactly what it means. Studio isn't "smart" enough to solve the "complex" union you are trying to do. Hopefully they improve the math behind CSG in the future. Other than that I try to save CSG as a last resort |

Ok, here are my parts. Sorry for the delay--it had to be approved. http://www.roblox.com/CSG-parts-item?id=215892090
I also tried extending the width of that negative part so that it extended beyond the edge of the grey brick. I'm still getting that error. |

Here's a second example of how the union tool is failing me: http://www.roblox.com/Union-Unsolvable-item?id=216008922
It doesn't include negations, but it's in the same vein. |

unioning that was pretty tricky
also may i ask why some of the parts were rotated the way they were? here's a modified version http://www.roblox.com/modified-item?id=216015605
go ahead and try to union it it'll be easy as pie |

The model was generated by script, so that might explain strange rotations. The script is the same script that generated the first picture (which angled parts on the edges).
Some background: I'm making a tool so that you click a part and it adds bevels to it. In the mode for which I sent the picture, there are 23 parts.
Anyway, when I first crack out studio, it allows me to union the parts. However, once I generate a new set of parts, it gives me that error. If I want to union, I have to close out of studio and open it again. Even if I deselect the plugin, it still gives me that error. |

Follow up: the problem is definitely solved by leaving studio and coming back in. It fixed up this model, too: http://www.roblox.com/Union-Unsolvable-part-2-item?id=216022707
Does anyone know why that is? Has anyone scripted closely with CSG before? |
