I've been doing some research online, looking at comparisons. They both have their pros and cons. I'm trying to lean more into the field of game development. Which should I choose?

Roblox announced in a broadcast on twitch that they will only be allowing Lua on Roblox.

Through my research it shows C# has much more capabilities. But I'd like an advanced opinion.

You can't compare the two, they usually serve completely different purposes.

Also through my research, Lua is not able to go 3d. Unless you use some sort of an engine. I do really like Love 2d though.

You should learn C first. All coding languages are a variety of it, so once you learn C, it will be really easy to learn other languages.
I know PHP, JavaScript, Lua, C#, C++, and a little Python.

I know that they serve completely different purposes, but what should I learn next? I'm looking for the field of game development. If you don't know a complete answer could you help me break down which one I should learn?

That doesn't make sense. No language goes in any dimension, you implement that. You can use Love2D and create 3D stuff just fine.

Does C have good capabilities game development wise? I will probably end up learning it anyways, ignoring the game development wise thought, because if C does help me get around other languages, I will learn more logic in coding.

Lua is really a fast way to create a basic game, here's a sample of what some cool guy did:

I think I might lean into the Lua section because it seems faster. With that in mind, I hope it will also teach me a lot of logic in coding.

If you care to learn purely about logic and problem solving (and planning ahead), go with assembly.
But for a basic game, go with a higher level language.

@cntkillme That video looks awesome.

I've heard of assembly. Some guy I met at a Script Builder said he used it to make some blue screen of death. < I don't know if he was lying.

@cntkillme Is Assembly challenging? From first glance it looks challenging.

> I Guess that would be what you'd expect from a logic teaching language.

Are there certain IDEs for Assembly, or would I have to use Sublime Text?

It depends, if you already know the basics of how computers work then it shouldn't really be hard.

They do have IDEs for assembly where they would assemble your code and link it in 1 button, even visual studio can do this.

I want to get a Masters in Computer Science, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-OxzIC6pic&list=PLvJoKWRPIu8G6Si7LlvmBPA5rOJ9BA29R

That taught me a bit about it, but I haven't watched the full video. Would things like that teach me about how computers work?

It talks about Binary in it.

Alright, thank you for your time, I'll look into those, if I don't go with Assembly I'll be diving into Lua.

C# is the best for making actual games. Lua is just for roblox. C# would be better if you would want to make games outside of roblox
