Welcome to Anathor, a land shrouded in seas and full of thieves.
You have been sponsored by the Kingdom of Luchia on a distant continent. He bestowed upon your forty-five thousand silver dimes to grow your kingdom. Though secretly, Lord Galve, has sponsored other nobles to expand and conquer the lands in the name of the Kingdom. Lord Galve also granted you five spearmen, three archers, and four swordsmen. Also a handful of peasants to work the farms, work in the mines, and cook for the nobility. Also cows, chickens, sheep, pigs, and horses.
Your objective? Well to expand and prosper of course!
You must establish a trading empire, forge allies, keep your faith true, and crush all enemies that stand in your way.
Character Sheet: Name: Age: Gender: Biography: Family Name: Personality: Appearance: Other:
Kingdom Sheet: Name: Banner Description: Land formation created on: (I.E: on the side of a mountain, on a flat plain, etcetera.) Main Import: Main Export:
Rules: You can only have one character at a time. You can only have one kingdom at a time. You cannot get more money after you've spent it all unless you have a mine or are able-bodied to go raiding. You cannot automatically know where other kingdoms are unless they've settled on found ground, which is unlikely. You are not allowed to godmod. You are not allowed to metagame. If you are speaking out of character, type your body in parenthesis. You have taxes to the empire, but you also collect taxes. If you slaughter all of your population, you will forfeit your kingdom and have to start a new one unless you can do it secretly. You cannot achieve "futuristic" technology like an iPhone. If you only have one settlement and your kingdom puts a coup into action, they will be classified as "Rebels" and your kingdom is now available to be taken by anyone and you have to create a new kingdom with a penalty. Do not confuse your kingdom with settlements. You can have multiple settlements within your kingdom's rule. No hate speech against other players. Keep your relationship to a minimum. If you do have a child, just announce that your lady is expecting a child, do NOT go into detail. If you've read so far, spell chicken backwards in the Other section. Ignore the rule above this one. Ignore the rule above this one. You cannot create your own technology without an administrator's word of approval or my word of approval. If you claim that you did something obviously wrong is not in the rules, you immediately forfeit your entire kingdom and your character. If your character dies and you do not have a son, your kingdom will crumble. If you DO have a son, you can play as him and continue to rule your kingdom.
Available Technology:
Believe it or not; doughnuts. Doughnuts were invented in 1847 supposedly by Hanson Gregory. I only include this because it makes me hungry and I want the food availability to be a little more diverse time-wise.
Guns. And no, I don't mean you're going to have a M16 and a grenade launcher. I mean you'll have rifles... just not assault rifles. Flintlock pistols and rifles.
Automated mining system. A windmill with steel pikes moves vertically and can be adjusted via a pulley system. It's rotated by a livestock generator.
Printing System. Written pages can be replicated onto stone tablets and then processed onto pages to create more copies. The creation of the actual book is still hand-done.
Cannons. Cannons are issued on boats, towers, castle walls, and portable for invasions.
Also, you can create your own religions but you'll have to PM me your religion name and I'll shoot a Religion Sheet back at you. When you fill it out, I'll look through it and approve or deny it. I will also publicly announce the coming of a new religion out of character.

| It'd be accepted though there will be a penalty among some of your troops due to the absence of a male ruler. |

Just a small denouncing penalty. And there's only a penalty because females in the middle ages were not respected and had the same rights as we do now unless they were high up in the social pyramid such as a queen. In this roleplay, each "king" or "queen" is just a peasant that's family had some sort of significance and the Lord wanted to give them a fief.
I myself, am not sexist. Just sticking to the somewhat historical timeline that this roleplay follows. |

Character Sheet: Name: Darien Age: Darien is nearing his twenty second birthday as of now. Gender: Of the male gender, of course. Biography: Darien was born into a rich family, so much that he was able to squeeze in an education, though he often found himself not caring enough to actually put much focus into what; what he really cared for was combat. Whenever possible he would take a sword of his father and swing it around the air, and at age twelve his parents gave up on an education and decided that he'd be more focused if he was trained for sword fighting.
At age sixteen he met his soon to be fair maiden, a pretty girl named Marka. They would spend time as friends and would soon begin having romantic engagements until they were officially bonded together at age eighteen. It took some convincing, but eventually Marka gave into the idea of settling a new kingdom and they set off. Family Name: Larahell Personality: His personality varies, though most of the time he is recognized as a kind king who is quite the listener, though at others he can also be defined as a harsh and emotionless man who would rather put his life ahead of others, and at others quite the charmer. Appearance: Darien is incredibly tall and has black hair with green eyes. The hair is quite shaggy and long, and he often cares very little for it, mostly allowing it to be how it wants to be but at formal occasions he makes sure he looks quite well groomed in order to impress whoever he is meeting.
His posture is fantastic, and he looks quite muscular and very handsome. His clothing are most often purple and red robes, though when he's alone or with Marka he can wear pretty much the most casual clothing there is, at least for the age. Other: I like to eat nekcihc
Kingdom Sheet: Name: Eutura Banner Description: A purple, red, blue, and white flag; the background/back drop is purple, while there are two swords crossing each other, one being red the other being white. Crossing over a blue flower like shape with white markings placed at different intervals. Land formation created on: Eutura was established a little ways away from a river for fertile land, fresh water and fish. Main Import: Metals, money. Main Export: Surplus of crops and meats. |

[Stein] I split them by fours. One of the four are the miners, the second four are the hunts, the third four are the builders/artisans/merchants, and the last four are farmers. (Which will be hard due to the altitude, but the mountains should have water.) |

[Darien] You have finally created a small longhouse made of stone bricks and a wooden-braced twine roof. Outside a small garden containing alchemical herbs for your local alchemist. Your first community meeting is held here.
One argument is how far a farmhouse will be established away from the fertile land to assume maximum crop harvesting. |

Your builders commit to creating small huts made out of the surrounding spruce wood and a circular wooden roof fitting in the circular hut. This is temporary until they can establish a steady supply of cobblestone. The hunters have taken all the horses to go hunt for today's game. The miners have begun to mine into a mountain nearby.
(There are patches of freshwater in the mountains, if you want to grow the crops close to the main keep, you'll have to construct an aqueduct which can take up to six months, |

I use the remaining wagons to keep the food there. I give a fair share to the merchants to sell. I warn them to keep it at low prices.

Name: Karanim Major Beliefs: Life is a never ending cycle. After death, your good/bad deeds in this life cycle are counted up against you, and the two Gods of Life and Death decide whether you are born into a good or bad life. In a sense, after you are set to rest you are reincarnated into another life that is based upon the decisions you made in your previous life.
Women and men are treated equally, and so are those of difference races, however those with different beliefs must either be brought to a moment of life or treated poorly; if they do not believe in the ones that created them then why should they be treated as those that have embraced the way of Karanim?
S3xual intercourse is something men and women of all ages should engage in, for it is what allows the cycle of life to continue until the gods see it fit that the cycle end.
After about ten life cycles, the high court[or the "elemental" gods] decide the final fate of the person in question; do they deserve a good afterlife, more lives, or an eternal suffering?
How many deities do you believe in?: Countless deities, though the main ones are Life, Death, Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Sun and Moon gods. Ceremonies: On the day of a New Year, followers of Karanim celebrate the rebirth of the Sun and Moon. Celebrations often include buffets, drinking, and other normal celebration stuff.
Every turn of the new month similar celebrations to that of new year are practiced in order to thank the gods for another month of health and good will. If someone has died during that month celebrations are often less extravagant. If a child has successfully been born during that month celebrations are often much more...extreme. Special items: Sacred animals pertaining to their main gods, such as rats for death/decay, or other highly nature like animals for life. Symbol: A circle with several triangles inside of it involving colors such as green, black, red, yellow, white, dark gray, brown, and blue, representing their main gods. Rules: [1].All believers are treated equal. It is considered an act of betraying the gods if one is to heavily mistreat another member of the Karanim beliefs. [2].Mistreating your maiden or committing adultery is also something that can often lead to a terrible rebirth. |

(The currency is silver dimes. You do not have anyone to trade with except your own people yet and all of your builders are too hungry to continue any work.)
The remaining meat is put in wool sacks and thrown in one of the covered wagons. The eggs are placed in a straw basket and carefully placed close to the venison. |

| Workers are to set up farmland in the best possible position, close to the river for water and with good soil. Anyone skilled with weaponry defend the workers, however a few of them are sent off to hunt until we can manage to begin growing crops. Any workers not working on the farm begin building residential areas. All others are divided up into the groups. |

Name: Ishmael Basset
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Biography: Ishmael was born as a mere peasant. Upon conception, the forces that be had already dealt out a bad hand to poor Ishmael. Ishmael, however, made the best of it. He grew up working on his parents' farm, day-in and day-out. Crops would always be collected as tax by the kingdom, and Ishmael grew accustomed to watching tax-collectors go off with part of the harvest. He had dreams of becoming something greater. He wished for those crops to be brought to him, rather than being taken from him. At the age of 18, he walked off from home and hoped for the best. He, however, did not get the best. He ended up as a sword-bearer for a military general.
Years passed as he continued to carry the sword for that general. Whenever there was a battle afoot, Ishmael would offer a small bit of advice to the general. At first, his advice went unnoticed, but soon, the general began to heed his words and start consulting with Ishmael for strategies and tactics. Soon enough, the general moved Ishmael to becoming a tactician and a planner, rather than a sword-bearer. When Ishmael reached the age of 33, and the Lord Galve began to sponsor nobles, the general that Ishmael served refused the offer to start his own kingdom, and instead suggest Ishmael for the role. After years of servitude, Ishmael's work had paid off as he accept Galve's offer and went off to start his own kingdom.
Family Name: Basset
Personality: Ishmael was thought of as his general as being a level-headed, well-mannered, and exceedingly wise man. This is all true. Ishmael is rarely seen to commit to actions without forethought. All his actions are calculated beforehand, which led to the great success of his general when he was still in his employment. Ishmael shares a sort of connection to the peasants, having been one himself for a large portion of his early life. He shows sympathy to them, and has no plans to overwork or overtax them. However, this sympathy does not extend to men who are higher up in rank. He seems to have no qualms with punishing, or outright killing people who are above the peasantry. Either, he really likes the peasants, or he just expects more out of those higher up in the food-chain. His calm demeanor can easily break, moving him into a more angered state as he deals with whoever's offended him.
Appearance: Ishmael is a man of average stature and build. His hair is a dark brown colour, cut short and tied in a ponytail in the back. His eyes are an even darker shade of brown. Clinging to his face is a rough beard. He carries himself in a more relaxed way, seeing no need to stand tall and show his status. In fact, the only thing showing his status are the two swords, one longer and one shorter, with ornate sheathes at his side. He wears a plain, black kimono with the design of his banner at the right breast.
Other: chicken, but backwards
Kingdom Sheet:
Name: Yarushiro
Banner Description: A black banner, depicting two red dragons biting at each other's tails, forming a circle in the middle of the banner. In the space between the two dragons is a sword pointed downwards
Land formation created on: A heavily forested peninsula, with water surrounding three sides and a river running through the middle of the forest.
Main Import: Metals
Main Export: Fish and wood |
