Ever since the dawn of time, war and battle has endlessly plagued the land of Venture, reaping souls and crushing families. However a new and welcomed age of peace had fallen amongst the land, and all was at rest.
Eventually a time came when the king died. His heir, by the name of Thrait, was challenged by another, named Serough, who also claimed to be the king of the land. This ended the peace and caused the people of the land to gradually fall into entropy. They both were correct, as researchers discovered, causing even more chaos and confusion. To retrieve the throne from Thrait, Serough gathered a group of followers and made a cunning attempt to murder the rival heir, this battle yielded no luck. The group were forced into hiding, hiding and biding their time.
For several years, the lands lived in famine and despair. Thrait may have been benevolent, but he was arrogant at the same time, and overall the inhabitants of Venture thought of him as both good and bad, meaning well but still having a somewhat poor attitude. Some, in secret, began to search for Serough, as a last attempt to overthrow Thrait from his reign as king. For several months, there was no sign of Serough, and the lands were finally in peace, and most accepted Thrait as their leader.
However, a year later, Serough was found, and Thrait had discovered that he had been recruiting many who were against him to begin with. Serough has even had enlisted the help of several of the most elite warriors in Venture. Serough's newly discovered forces plundered villages, forcing those who supported Thrait to be Serough's servants until the end of time- bound by a powerful curse, tying them to their master.
Serough strongly believed in individuality among the lands, whilst Thrait was the opposite and believed in unity between all people, believing it to be the only way of success for the land of Venture. However, in the land of Venture, only one of the beliefs, either Individuality of Unity, could exist at one time.
Now, the land has been plunged back into a war, as the group has assembled enough men to begin a final battle, a battle to decide the fate of Venture.
-Magic Types-
Dark/Shadow: Users may bend the darkness and shadows around them to form attacks. Only can be used by those who have taken the path of evil. Dark is equal to light in power, however the power of the users will decide which overcomes, if any.
Light: Users may bend light around them to form attacks. Opposite of Darkness. Can only be used by those with good hearts. Light is equal to dark in power.
Fire: Users of fire magic may use fire attacks, generated out of thin air. Often used by evil. Strong Fire magic users can counter Water magic users.
Lightning: Holders of the power of lightning may use lightning bolts against enemies. Often used by evil. Counters and cancels out Ice magic by default, though strong users can always overcome.
Ice: Those with the powers of ice magic are able to use ice magic to attack or freeze enemies. Used by good and evil equally. Counters and cancels out Lightning magic, though strong users can always overcome.
Water: Water can be used to blast torrents of water at opponents, and control the water around them. Often used by good. By default, Water magic will counter Fire magic.
Wind: Wind is considered to be somewhat useless, however wind can be manipulated to boost one's speed. Often used by good. By default, Wind magic will counter Sound magic.
Sound: Anyone with the magic of sound can manipulate the sound around them and use it as blasts or waves, or just create sound themselves. Often used by good, but sometimes used by evil. Strong Sound magic users can counter Wind magic users.
Telekinesis: The ability to move objects with one's mind. Used by good and evil equally. By default, Telekinesis will counter Enchanting magic.
Healing: Anyone with the ability of healing can heal minor or moderate wounds. Larger scale wounds can only be healed by the more powerful healers. Almost always used by good. Powerful healing users can sometimes overcome Necromancy, however quite rarely due to the latter being a complex magic.
Enchanting: Anyone with the power to master enchanting can enchant any weapon and imbue powers upon it, and cast 'regular' spells. It is one of the more advanced but powerful magics. Used by good and evil equally. Strong Enchanting magic users can counter Telekinesis users.
Necromancy: A magic earned by utmost patience and dedication (and breaking some laws), Necromancy can be used to speak to the deceased, and to bring them back in an undead form, if one is very proficient. Necromancy is an outlawed magic in Venture. Only ever used by evil, as good people never break the laws to learn it. By default, Necromancy counters Healing.
Illusion: The magic of illusion can be harnessed by only the most deceiving of users, a challenging type to master.
-----Locations-----
The Void: A place of eternal darkness, the void has rarely been entered, and those who enter are rumoured to never come back, left fighting off endless creatures for all of eternity, unable to die, and slowly changing into a monstrosity themselves. Time does not go by in the void, or so ancient legends say. When the entrance to the void is dissolved, the monstrosities inside can escape, causing the world to descend into chaos.
The Royal Palace: Where the ruler of the land lives. It is a mix between a fortress and a mansion. The Royal Palace is located in a city in Alidor province, which is surrounded by walls, with a second layer of walls surrounding the palace itself.
Lamber: Serough's capital, a major city located in Revith Province.
Alidor Province: The wealthier of Venture's two provinces, Alidor is located in Northeast Venture, being a quite mountainous region, especially in the North. Snowy in some places, and beautiful and sunny in others, Alidor Province is a sight to behold, home to shimmering blue lakes and lush green forests spread across the land. The royal palace sits in an open field, surrounded by mountains on three sides and a large city, with towering walls bearing the golden flags of Thrait.
Revith Province: The Revith Province is a vast province, covered in lush green fields and being heavily forested. In some places, the Revith Province is a rich land, prospering with farms and rivers in most places, but in some places the grass is parched and dry, and in others marshy and wet. In the very south, near the sea, is Serough's capital city, Lamber, guarded by what are considered to be the most elite forces in all of Venture.
The Ether: Deep in the unreachable depths of Venture's underground lies a murky realm where irate spirits, monsters and other nasties reside. Supposedly the first layer of the Void, it is the barrier between the overworld of Venture and the Void, keeping the two realms from colliding. But as Venture struggles to find a king, that barrier begins to disspate and the boundary between them starts to meld.
-Rules-
1. Godmodding will not be tolerated, nor will metagaming or anything of the sort.
2. I will assign your faction, just to keep things balanced.
3. Put effort into all of your posts and CSes.
4. Please pick only one magic type. More than one can be overpowered and a bit confusing.
5. When in PvP, the outcome of any action is determined using logic and dice, to keep things fair and balanced. Otherwise, the RP is free roam. Put Binds in other. Yes, characters can die, and it is expected that you do not whine if yours does.
6. Rules can indeed be made by admins as the roleplay moves along. Not everything can be fit into the rules, so don't do anything you wouldn't normally think is allowed.

Name: Kalyn Alexus
Gender: Female
Age: 27
Personality: Kalyn cares little for the concerns and opinions of others. Her goals are all she cares about, and that goal is simple: gain control, whether it be over herself or others. She cares not about who she steps on or over to gain anything that works towards her interests, and is more than willing to murder and steal for the right price. Kalyn hates humanity, and will more often than not avoid human contact as much as possible. She has several camps and caves that she uses to hide away when frustrated. Due to her unusual magical abilities and general dislike of people, she is known as a witch or nightspawn, not a human. Her abilities appear to alter her personality in threatening situations, as she acts violently and strangely when danger nears. When not in danger, however, she is much more calm, and acts without emotion in her ordeals.
Appearance: Despite her reputation as a witch, Kalyn is not ugly, or any different from any other woman, for that matter. She stands at about 5'11", with a slightly malnourished, thin figure. She has large, emerald green eyes and long black hair. Despite not owning a real home, or any form of washtub, her hair is always straight and clean. Her nose is small and pointed. For clothing, she typically wears a hooded black cloak over leather armor.
Role: Void Witch
Significant Skills: Kalyn weilds an unusual form of Necromancy that allows her to tap directly into the dark energy of the Void. Instead of speaking to or raising the dead, she is able to summon or even become a being of the Void in combat. She has little control over her Void abilities, and will often become considerably more dangerous when threatened in any way. Kalyn has also become proficient in finding any place to hide away, as her Void abilities are not only powerful, but painful and tiring as well.
Bio: Kalyn first discovered her connection to the Void as a child. She came to understand the Void better over time, after first fleeing from home as a shadowy beast of her creation slaughtered and ate her family. She has spent most of her life trying to control and enhance her abilities, but as the Void filled her, her control faded further.

------Character Sheet-------
Name: Chaus DeKlic
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Personality: Iron Spined- He doesn't get scared. He knows no fear. Mental Scar- In certain circumstances, he will breakdown due to events in his past. Humorous- Even if you don't think he is, he wouldn't mind anyone with a sense of humour, and he will tell jokes no matter if they are good or bad. Realist- He knows the world is cruel, he knows people die everyday. He won't indulge in crazy plans or the like.
Appearance: A medium, but muscular and well built man with barely any fat. His forest brown hair is tied in the back, and his beard is knotted as a habit from his woodcutter years. His silver eyes flicker all around, but are relaxed.
He prefers as light tunic, mostly in the colors brown or red, with some loose pants and a belt to help hold his hatchet. A bag is slumped over his back, filled with his main weaponry and supplies. Also, as a prize for winning a logging contest, Chaus wears thick fur boots once again the color of the forest( brown).
Role (Mage, Assassin, etc.): Anti-Mage, specifically meant to defeat mages.
Significant Skills: Enchanting- But not in the way you think. He 'enchants' the enemy's spells, turning them worthless. Hatchets- Axes, hatchets, halberds... Give him the axehead, and he got this covered.
Bio: Descendant from a moderate family in the Alidor Province, he was actually the subject of abuse by many... At the age of 8, he fled home and ended up in the rural areas of Venture. There, he spent most of early life begging and doing small jobs for farmers and such. As he grew older, he took jobs with woodcutters and began a fascination with axe that would carry on to make them his signature weapon.
His magic soon showed himself after a drunk mage attempted to burn him in a drunken duel. Rather than joining the ranks of the mages, he decided to focus on defeating them. Whether to teach them a lesson or kill them, he prefers to beat them either way.

(Forgot to mention, shadow is admin-only as well. Darkness is still available to players. Essentially, shadow is a more powerful, elite darkness and overcomes light. One magic type per character, though you can gain another as the RP progresses, as well as upgrades to your old powers.
Also, Kalyn sides with Serough.
Other guy (forgot his name, sorry) sides with Thrait.)

------Character Sheet-------
Name:Leo Walker
Gender:M
Age: 26
Personality: Leo is almost unbelievably forgiving, if you betray his trust who cares? You can almost always win it back, "Everybody deserves a 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 7th chance!" Leo is caring, which you must be to be a successful healer. He genuinely cares for all of his patients, however he is so caring, that he doesn't see the point in caring for those who don't care for others, "If you don't care for others, I don't really care about you."Leo is peaceful, because his main role is as a healer, he doesn't see the point in injuring others, "A sword? I fight with words!" Leo is selfless. He hates seeing people die everyday, so if someone is in danger, he would willingly give his life for them. "Every life saved, is one more that can help to promote peace."
Appearance: Well, Leo is about average height:5'11" and is awfully scrawny. He has extremely messy blonde hair, that remains in a hat of some-sort throughout the day, only the edges of his hair are visible with his hat on. Leo has bright blue eyes and typically has bags under them. He wears a perfectly clean white robe at all times, and brown pants with a belt, where he keeps his healing supplies.
Role (Mage, Assassin, etc.): Healer?
Significant Skills: Of course, as a healer he is quite good at healing wounds (light to moderate, also not specialized;just a general all-around healer)
Bio: Leo was born to a poor family in the Revith Province. Where he lived on a small farm with his father, mother, and two younger (But much bigger, and stronger) brothers. Because he was unable to help out with the farm work, he worked with his mother; known as his villages' healer. This is where he found out his skills for healing. His family barely made enough to survive, but they still did. Then one day, a soldier came to his house, and said that they need one male from the house to fight in the war. Because his brothers and father were essential to the farm he reluctantly volunteered.
Other: Binds, also if a character does die is it permitted to make another?

Chaus-
Blood on the floor, pretty sure the man over there is dead, and that tree is on fire. That's the thoughts running through Chaus's head as he faces off against a fire mage. Not that Chaus can't block them, he just can't block everything at once. He wipes some of the blood from the cut running across his forehead, and spits out a tooth soaked in blood.
"Give up." The mage demands, one eye almost swollen shut and barely standing with a broken leg from earlier. "Marcus Sertia, fire mage from the..." Another wave of blood as he descends into another fit."From the Revith Province. Under orders for siding with the traitor Serough, King T-" "The damn false king, you mean!" Marcus shouts, and Chaus just holds up his hand. "King Thrait has issued orders against such traitors and their minions. Thus, I must k-" "OVER MY CORPSE!!" The mage charges, fireballs burning in his hands. He's almost there when suddenly...
Pffft. The fireballs burn out, and Chaus is burying the axehead deep right into Marcus's stomach with full force. "I learned never to play with fire, or you will get hurt..." Chaus delivers one final joke, before ripping his axe out like removing it from a dead tree. The body crumbles to the ground, and Chaus sighs. Another mage defeated. |

------Character Sheet-------
Name: Alukother
Gender: Male, though it was a time before the suspicions of this could be completely confirmed due to his normal clothing covering a large percentage of his body.
Age: While his exact age is unknown, It has been predicted and generally agreed upon by many that Alukother is at least thirty years old since he has been known as a user of dark magic for about ten years, anyone older would have a bit more difficulty with his fighting style and magic, and the fact that the few who had lived after he decided to kill them had given reports of a middle aged man with a scarred face and black skin.
Personality: Alukother is very cruel, and it is suspected that he slaughtered his family in order to make sure that his past would remain a mystery. Indeed, Alukother thought that mystery was the best illusion, and as such kept himself covered in a cloud of it. However, As time has gone on there have been more and more hints of his past given by the crimes he appears to commit, and the way that his victims are killed.
His killings are often brutal and looks like the victims suffered damage before being killed, suggesting that Aluktoher enjoys the suffering of others and hearing their screams before he lands the final blow to strike them down and give them a premature demise. Despite this, if he is ever required to kill an innocent due to him/her being in his way, he most certainly will complete the task ,though will not due it quite as brutally as he would with government officials and soldiers, suggesting that despite his cruel ways he has some sort of morality involving the innocent and young.
Appearance: Alukother takes the shape of a tall, muscular, and large man, and a man with low amounts of bravery would find themselves trembling simply at his base appearance, let alone mixed in with his armor and cloak. His skin is perhaps the darkest skin can get, though his body is often scarred and bloody due to his simple lack of caring for hygiene at this point.
Role (Mage, Assassin, etc.): Alukother's role varies depending on the situation, though a large percentage of the time he takes the part of an assassin, though also makes quite a fine warrior, though, again, it simply depends on how he believes the situation should be dealt with.
Significant Skills: Alukother is noted for having control over dark magic as well as a much more minor control of illusion magic.
Bio: Very little is known about Aulkother's past, though it is thought that his parents tried their best to please him, though e was never quite satisfied with what he had. However, it was not that but it was the fact that he utterly despised his parents. He found his life to be quite terrible, with his family so rich and being able to do whatever he wants. And so, he left his home as soon as the possibility of seizing the opportunity became available to him.
What happened next is empty, though more clues resurface later speaking of how Alukother was forced into the void by a mage of darkness, which slowly began to corrupt him and his personality, turning him into the half beast half monster he is in current years. At some point he obviously managed to escape the void, thought when he left he wasn't the man he was when he entered; rather than being an emo like adult who thought his life was absolutely pointless, Alukother was know a monster capable of killing, brutal killing at that.
And so he returned to his parent's house to test out his new abilities, and though he wasn't as skilled in combat as he was now the unsuspecting parents were easily disposed of, and Alukother lost all love for everyone and everything. Another big gap of nothing emerges after the killings of his father and mother, however once clues remerge it is learned that Alukother began learning the ways of darkness magic, as well as finetuning the way of illusion magic, though he never quite mastered it completely. Some things even Alukother cannot fix.
After his perfection of dark magic and learnings of the basics of illusions, Alukother sought to fulfill his blood lust, and began dragging soldiers and government officials from nearby towns and forcing them in caves, torturing them and finally killing them when their minds were broken and they lost all entertainment value. He became local legend in the town, and many thought he was the embodiment of an evil god seeking revenge for something they did to displease him. Alukother did not seem to mind that they thought he was a higher being, and as many of the evil men and women of today he found that their fear of him proved to help him in the long run.
Only after two soldiers worked together to escape Alukother's grasp did the citizens of the town learn that Alukother was not a god, but a man corrupted by the void. Alukother retreated into another nearby town staging as a young traveler, not wanting to return to the other town in case the two that had seen him recognized him and had him executed in front of the entire town. So Alukother did what he thought best;
he killed in that city.

(Since Chaus is already hurt.) Leo
After Chaus's battle with the mage Leo runs up to him and asks, "How you feelin' after that one, do you need help or are you good?" Leo doesn't wait for a response and starts healing Chaus anyway, he then says "You didn't have to kill him, you know that right?"

Chaus-
"I'm fine, just fine. But I wouldn't say so much for him." Chaus jerks his hand in the direction of the dead mage. "He was going to kill me anyways. And besides, if a bloody mage can't show me the respect or skill, might as well finish them. Saves us, or rather me, from having to deal with them again. You know, like when your rival keeps getting defeated and keeps coming back like they are stronger..." Chaus explains of logic for killing the mage. |

------Character Sheet-------
Name: Vethea
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Personality: Distant and detached. It's not that he's unsympathetic, he just struggles with conversation and ends up saying something awkward. Better to stay back and let other people speak, in his opinion. When confronted, he's polite...up to a point.
Appearance: Vethea is a small, unhealthily thin young man wearing simple dull leather armor. His small facial features are nothing extraordinary and neither is his medium-length dark hair which lies flat against his head. His body posture suggests insecurity and embarrassment, always looking like he wants to shrink even smaller to stay out of sight.
Role (Mage, Assassin, etc.): Mage, specifically controlling Wind.
Significant Skills: At all times, 24 hours a day, Vethea is levitating. That is to say, an invisible vortex of wind is constantly swirling around his legs and lower torso, keeping him hovering a few inches above the ground. His legs feet hang limply inside the mini tornado, henceforth referred to as the Vortex. It is his sole means of propulsion; his legs/lower body are completely incapable of walking, rendering him a cripple from the waist down.
The Vortex is also the means through which Vethea uses his abilities in combat. He can manipulate the Vortex to an expert degree, making him very, very slippery in a fight as he sends blasts of air to keep himself afloat and to knock enemies off-balance. Rumors persist that anyone stuck inside the Vortex where Vethea would normally be sitting will asphyxiate and die as the whirlwind pulls the oxygen from your lungs.
Bio: Vethea has always been unassuming and quiet, which is why he hates the attention he receives from the Vortex. As if being crippled wasn't already something that made someone stick out, the Vortex is constantly spinning whether or not Vethea wants it to be. He can channel its intensity but never silence it completely. So he learned to live with it, and live with the concerned glances, pointed looks and nasty glares from other people, becoming more withdrawn and shy as he grew up.
Other: Binds? Or was it Magic? Or perhaps Assmor.
