Alright, so before you spam me with "WNTS" or "No support" or anything like that, let me clear this up. I know it's been suggested before. I plan to improve on the idea of it and remove its abusable features.
So, everyone has had that time when they're in an argument on a thread or something and they post something incorrect. So then, the other guy says "No, you're wrong, dummy." So now you want to go back and change it, but you need to make a new post and OH NO FLOODCHECK! The idea here is that the forums should have an edit button for posts. It's been a feature on other websites for a while and honestly it's kinda strange that we don't have this kind of feature already, but here goes.
So, on websites like reddit, you can edit your posts. BUT, when you edit your posts, it goes in a EDIT: prompt underneath the original post. This totally negates the idea that people will just post something NSFW or against the rules and then just edit it out to cheaply avoid a ban. So if you make some kind of spelling error, or post some false information and don't realize it until you look it up, now you don't have to make another post! Plus, let's be honest... flood check is annoying... so this would really make fixing mistakes a lot easier.

I feel like that would only be allowed on the original post. It would be stupid for people who are arguing in the middle of their thread to just modify their posts to be right, even if there was an "edit" subtab.
BUT allowing the OP to go and change a post in case they were working on something (ie an update thread) would be nice. |

Maybe but then you run into the same problem that I'm trying to fix in that you'd just have to wait out flood check and make a new post to fix it
