| They could go miles on a bike and nothing will happen to them. Now the streets are filled with criminals and crazy people. I cant go 1 mile without being followed by p3d0s. |

50s kids had it easier.
You could walk on the train tracks for miles to find a dead body and no one cared. |

how ridiculously stupid are you to think that p3dophilia, r@pe, assault, murder, drug dealing, and other similar issues have only arisen in bad neighbouroods in the past decade and a half

| I agree - also, living in the suburbs its harder for me to walk around, as its crowded with roads and traffic and there isnt much for me to do, as the only things there are shops which are aimed at adults. Also kids didnt try as hard to be adults back then (at least thats what i think from the way 90s kids portray the 90s) |

90s kids could go to the park with their friends
my friends mostly live in the next suburb so my mum has to drive me there to hang out with them and when i ask my local friends they are too busy on their computers
in the 90s kids went outside more |

Gangs are much less predominate now than in the past. After people like Giuliani cut down gang violence in places like new york, it really hasn't had the same impact as before. ofc gangs are still here but they aren't nearly as big as before.
And while there is still conflict in the middle east with all those opposing groups, the rest of the world has been relatively peaceful. Honestly just cut out the entire Muslim World and you see that basically everywhere is in a nice era of peace. |

most powerful terrorist groups (aka at least 90% of the ones you just named) have all been around since the 90s or earlier, iirc and it's the same with powerful gangs too

| And the majority of those muslim factions are fighting for control over that one region of Asia. They basically have no influence on what happens to you or how safe you are in your neighborhood, unless you live in Syria or something. |
