Everything you eat contains them, and humanity hasn't been wiped out yet.
"They cause cancer omg" You are probably one of those insane people that thinks vaccines do too
"factory farming is bad" It's not nice some of the conditions they have, but they are going to be killed for your food soon.
If you want to go waste your time and money finding something that is non-GMO and organic, go ahead, don't force it on the rest of us |

| @op, the main issue with GMOs is if they escape into the enviroment. Traits such as producing their own pesticides means that they may wipe out native plant or animal species and out compete the original organism they are modified from. |

| Interesting. Either way, GMOs or not, farming will have an impact on the environment. It's gonna be bigger with GMOs. |

But would you still eat them, label or no label? Most people wouldn't care for the label, but if you do, that's fine. |

"Everything you eat contains them, and humanity hasn't been wiped out yet." that's because gmos have only been out for a very short amount of time
"You are probably one of those insane people that thinks vaccines do too" GMO does cause cancer though they've tested rats with GMO and they got tumors and it messes with your DNA
"It's not nice some of the conditions they have, but they are going to be killed for your food soon." sorry but farmers are blind to the fact that pesticides and GMO are deadly
"If you want to go waste your time and money finding something that is non-GMO and organic, go ahead, don't force it on the rest of us" i have only one thing to tell you about this: eat an organic banana then compare it to a GMO banana, the taste difference is enormous |

GMOs are typically harmless. People overreact when the read about fish DNA being added to tomatoes. They added a piece that let the tomato survive colder weather more easily. Sometimes things go wrong, but there's screening and testing to reduce problems.

"eat an organic banana then compare it to a GMO banana, the taste difference is enormous" This is true Those banana's in the US have no flavor; they're insipid The ones I'm currently eating right now cannot even be compared with them, they're on a whole other level. |

You can't say GMOs are bad.
Saying GMOs are bad is like saying that dogs are bad because some maul people; it's all dependent of the strain of DNA that the scientists have created. You can't simply blame everything on GMOs, if a GMO does something bad, blame it on that specific GMO and not all GMOs.

Funny thing about the rat study. The types of rats that were chosen were of a variety EXTREMELY PRONE to tumors in the first place. I don't recall the exact details, but I believe the "control group" consisted of very similar rats that didn't get cancer as often.

To their credit, they do make sure the plant survives and doesn't kill everything in a 10-mile radius.
