It isn't the science of how someone thinks... It's the science of how the brain works.

neurology is the science for brains and all of it's connected nerves and stuff like that.
psychology is how we think. |

@OP See johnny has it right. A different definition: the scientific study of mental functions and behaviors.
It isn't how someone thinks, that may be involved in it, but it is not the main subject of psychology. Plus psychology is cool.

no, psychology is for the mentally unstable to have a job in ok, you simply don't enjoy getting into people's heads and figuring out what are they doing in that maze of a conscious.
so obviously, psychology is an easy field to get into if you have tendencies to be sadistic. |

So apparently all psychology is bad and only causes pain to people? Even though understanding how our brain, one of the most complex things that we have ever seen, works would be one of our greatest discoveries ever, so I guess hats not important and causes pain....

maybe you should actually learn about psychology before criticizing the entire field

@Dark
Let's see.
Eccentric people are labeled with psychological problems and are actually diagnosed with them.
These mentally unstable people that end up on the news for shootings or anything like such still roam the public being undetected. They are dark horses waiting for themselves to reach that point where they wind up on the news.
You tell me why this system isn't bad. |

@Assasin
You learn about them. What is it in psychology that is wrong?

because they didn't seek help or weren't given help???
its not like we can just magically teleport everybody in the world and investigate them |

These "Eccentric people" most likely went to the doctor to be diagnoised, otherwise their diagnosis wouldn't have happened or it would be false. These "mentally unstable people" most likely did not want to go to a doctor because they wanted to do those things. They then will hide.

@pay OP's fairly likely to lose that ability in a catastrophic windshield wiper/leaf blower/weed whacker accident.
