it's basically just a safety net for when you're insulting someone and then other people defend them and you either can't or won't think of good counterarguments against them
'hey this person sucks because of x' 'actually x isn't a very good reason because y' 'shut up whiteknight LOL' |

It's sorta changed now in terms of definition used to mean defending a girl on the internet for a romantic award now it means defending anything being insulted basically

| According to those people it's wrong to defend someone you look up to. Ugh, it hurts my head. |

Okay Boromir in all honesty this sounds like something my new D&D ranger would be except she left her family to live in the River Valley and ended up trying to help a pirate captain clear his criminal name then getting arrested currently breaking out of prison to discover that the fort we were jailed in has been taking over by goblins invading from the eastern tribal lands

@ZachHelms
You mean someone who's known for being socially awkward around women? Subtle. I bet you wouldn't know a true whitknight unless someone slammed you in the face with one, sort of like a fold-up chair. It wouldn't cause too much brain damage that hasn't already been done, I'm sure. |

My definition of white-knight is so specific I almost never get to use it. When I see anyone on OT use "whiteknight", I kinda laugh. It's so incorrect by my definition it just sounds stupid.

I actually had the exact same thoughts a couple days ago and I was gonna post a thread saying this and how stupid people are for using this term the wrong way and what not.But with some speech about there's nothing in it for you if you do "white knight". But someone did it for me without that last part,okay. |
