rant inbound
How exactly are new builders supposed to rise through the ranks by means of the ad system? It obviously favorites people with more robux/tickets, and for some newer builders, it may be awfully hard to keep up with the constant first page builders. For instance, a developer can put in 100,000+ tickets a day, whereas a newer builder can only do 5,000 tickets a day until s/he runs out. I know the point of the ad system is to outbid, but I feel like I only see the same few ads from popular developers, and there's not much variation. Which, of course, makes sense, but at the same time just feels wrong for aspiring builders and developers.
tl;dr: just read it please, either that or just leave the thread, because this is something im being srs about.

Dummiez got The Quarry popular by spamming the comments of front page games.
... Which I know because I saw him doing that the day it became popular, lol. |

I think that is probably a problem with all ad system. Turn on the TV and you're probably going to see the same 5-10 ads over and over again for products you already know about.
Really, I think for new games/products, word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Show your friends, who show their friends, who show their friends. Things can spread quickly that way. |

@gordon
There's like 30 of the popular commercials, then the 10 local commercials. However on roblox, I only see 50 popular commercials, and two local commercials. |

| Yea true but honestly if you have a good game it wont be that hard to actually get people to come so ad's would be pointless |

| Yea, but how can people know that the game is good/exists if nobody sees it? |

| Advertising isn't the only way to get people to come to your game for example you can spam items and ask friends to come and if they like they might tell other people to come and etc |

| Well if someone wants to be professional about it, I don't think they'd want to spam. |

But what about a really new developer on roblox? Say that s/he's rather new, and doesn't have any friends who want to play roblox. How would they get people to try their place?
(It's just something that I don't think has a simple answer. I just feel like maybe roblox should have some sort of new great game spotlight [less than 10,000 visits for it to qualify]) |
