Considering I still play Crossroads every once in a while, yes. In fact if ROBLOX's 2008 scripting capabilities still worked, many of those places would still be popular. |

I'm not referring to what was, I'm referring to the concept. The game that existed in that brief window of time that will never again be gazed into again by a curious 12-year-old boy. |

The good old days. Crossroads is still playable, just not as working as it once was.
MT ROBLOX the pick doesn't work anymore, thus being I can never accomplish my childhood dream. I will never have the right to PM Telemon so he can ignore it. |

What I liked about ROBLOX was that it was based on the community. It was a project used by multiple people to have fun and congregate.
Now what is it? It's some weird, mutated hierarchy, where the admins pander to the highest bidder. |

Lets not forget that join date, looks and memes are pretty much important these days in ROBLOX. |

Pft, old Roblox was absolutely horrible. I still have a 2007 (or 2008? It had circle studs so...) copy of the Roblox Studio. Oh my god, it sucked. SOOOO MUCH.
But yes, it generally had a better community. I joined late 2008 originally, and it was pretty fun. Then again, I'm not going to judge a community as "mature" and stuff since I joined when I was 12 ._.
(I ripped some of the old circle studs. I think they can still be viewed here: http://www.roblox.com/Map-Size-Morpher-place?id=162220904 You can't use decals yourself though, they were deleted and I'm only using them through an exploit) |

old roblox sucked creativity-wise and looks-wise but its the nostalgia that gives it that golden look
trust me if roblox was out in that condition nowadays, you wouldn't like it

Okay, yup, I have a 2008 version. 5/14/2008.
And it really sucked. Do you seriously want something that looks like this? ._.

I personally like the games from 08 and 09.
I remember the first game I played. It was a space craft game, forget what it was called. But you had the mothership, or a space station, and you had space crafts on it. |

| In comes the self-described "disillusioned" people who scream at the top of their lungs about how crappy ROBLOX used to be and act incredibly hostile towards anyone who disagrees. Meanwhile, I'm perfectly secure with my opinion... |

| Yes, the simplicity of building. But it's time to stop rioting on brining old roblox back. It would be possible but we won't have the fun games that have today or the type of scripts and certain tools like gear and weapons and guns. |

@iShatteredDemension
I agree that bringing old ROBLOX back would be a mistake. I do think they should pick everything up and try again, though. ROBLOX had the potential to take on some pretty great feats and even establish some in-game lore for itself, but the mods sacrifice creativity for cash. |

"...even establish some in-game lore for itself, but the mods sacrifice creativity for cash."
In-game lore? For Roblox? Leave that to the fans and bored interns ._.
As for the "sacrifice creativity for cash" part...Are you aware of all the studio updates making it easier to exercise creativity? It's the developers that have to be creative, not the mods.
And really, if mods are getting money doing what they're doing, then obviously the community likes their decisions ._. |
