| It prevents the client from making changes to the server, other than things like the local character. |

| FilteringEnabled allows you to develop more secure ROBLOX games, by not allowing the client to make changes to the server. Anything you want everyone to see needs to be done in Scripts, not LocalScripts. The only exception is when you use RemoteFunctions/RemoteEvents to communicate between server/client. |

One of the best uses of FilteringEnabled:
Supported local parts.
Usually local parts aren't supported, but using FilteringEnabled you can do it without the hacking method of CurrentCamera |

@Chief Nope.
Local lighting is currently only possible via latency. |

no, that according to cntkillme or whoever doesn't work anymore
you can do local lighting with FE, just change the lighting using a LocalScript.

| @Chief If you're so sure, make a LocalScript and try it, then start a server and check. |

War, you can do _anything_ locally with filtering. local lighting, local parts, local effects, etc.

| @Chief I asked about local lighting a long time ago on SH and I asked if FilteringEnabled would work, someone (If I remember correctly, it was cntkillme) said it should work, but in actually don't work like that. So I now need confirmation. |

| War don't be stupid. FilteringEnabled prevents any data from being accepted by the server unless replicated in the character or an RPC identity. Therefor, local lighting works fine and should never have been otherwise. |

I wouldn't know, I've only been around for less time than you.
Maybe you should read up before spreading misinformation ;) |
