Hello all,

For those who still play Heli-Wars, I'm looking to get some suggestions from a player's point of view. What would you like to see in the game? The game isn't advanced like many of the games are these days; it has been very simple for years and hasn't had any major overhauls, so I'd like to keep it within the same theme, but I welcome ideas for minor improvements.

Please, no flamers. I'm looking for some honest ideas from those who still play it.

I think a lot of the honest ideas will be negative, almost like flaming.

For example, make it actually look like a desert.

I don't really play it that much but I recommend you completely remake everything and make it more complex. Add more to do, add a replayability factor and something players can earn.

Yeah. Just look at some of the popular PVP games now. It's all about the style, and HWDA it painfully outdated in that sense.

You're going to need to remodel everything if you want to compete with the top games now. Some things that would be a good start are:

-Turn off brick outlines for everything (unless you want them to be there). This will make a "cleaner" look.

-Start experimenting with union parts.

-Rebuild all vehicles to make them more detailed.

-Get rid of the tools to operate vehicles. Most vehicles now no longer use tools that you have to select, instead they work by WASD, gui buttons (ex: a shooting button, a plane might have flaps and throttle, etc.) and have them disappear when you leave the vehicle.

-Fix glitches/possible ways of ruining the game (ex: destroying the other team's vehicles before they can even get to them, killing your own team, trolling, etc.)

-Rebuild buildings.

If you would prefer to keep the game classic as it is now, just turn the brick outlines off and see if there is a way to stop spawn camping, etc.

Dont remodel it, just make a new game and make it so you can see outside when you are in a heli

I play Heli-Wars alot to this day! Even though i love it i gotta say the guns arent the best :/

I love the accuracy you can have with the Arm-Rocket but for instance, the pistol is (not to be rude) trash. Drew your a master builder so i trust you can remake the guns.

Also i see many people flying onto the walls surrounding the map and camping behind the base of the enemy team on the wall. Maybe make this undoable OR you could take out the small "hill" like mounds on the walls making it easier to take the guys camping on the wall out, so they have nothing to camp behind.

Thank you all for your replies and your honesty, I appreciate it very much.

Rebuilding the vehicles is something I wanted to do. My idea isn't to necessarily compete with the top games, but I wanted to make it a little more modern and clean looking. Turning off brick outlines is something I will do, and perhaps even experimenting with new vehicle controls.

As for the team killing and spawn killing, I'm yet to find a viable solution for that.

One of you mentioned making it look like an actual desert... Perhaps you could elaborate? The idea originally was to have a simple sand-colored ground with cacti. The only reason I added the canyons around the outer edge was for border purposes. But if there are any suggestions to making it look more realistic, I'm open for ideas.

A solution for team killing would be to add in an anti team killing script. If I'm correct, you can only team kill with explosive weapons, so the script would need to be put in those. To keep people from camping, I'm not sure how to work that out, but I think that a good solution would involve invisible barriers.

To elaborate, make the ground more detailed than a single plate stretching across the whole map.
Both team killing and spawn killing are and have been for many years easy to fix if you know how to edit the scripts.
The vehicles and weapons are free models. Bleh.
It's far too basic compared to what is popular now.

No offense, but honestly I think XiaoXiaoMan was spot on about this place.

Hey Drewsome! You're back! Welcome back.

Only thing I can really suggest is remodel everything and make the coding up to date, perhaps change some lines of sight to the bases, and that's it.

Glad to see that you might update it. It was my favorite game when I first discovered Roblox. :)

I think the vehicles should be brought up to date, but I think I would keep the map classic or maybe touch it up.

well, for such an old game, I think you should make more detailed vehicles, maps, and a player point system. also some badges and working flags.

One thing I should say is that the vehicles are not free models. I used the old vehicle scripts, but I created the designs myself. The rocket and the dagger are just modified versions of stock weapons. Yes, they are old and out of date and I want to build new ones with more detail. Also, I see what you mean about the landscape. I'm going to experiment with it and see what I come up with.

As for Xiao, I honestly could care less what he says. There will always be those with blind hatred no matter what is said or done. Heli-Wars, when I first made it, wasn't design to be absolutely real. Of course there are aspects that would be impossible in reality.

For those who provided constructive criticism and useful advice, I thank you for taking the time to do so. I'm going to put these to use and see what I come up with.
