| CSGO isn't generic. It's the most skill based FPS game that currently exists. The generic ones are the ones that cater to every player. |

Arma isn't even in the same category of game as CSGO, Battlefield or Halo. It's a diverse simulator, and doesn't even employ the same kind of skills that CS does. The twitch reactions required to play CS are probably the least important thing in Arma.
Battlefield is about as generic as they come mate. Don't get me wrong, I like it and play it sometimes but it's also not in the same class as CSGO, because whoever has the best gear will win every gun fight (So players that got the game late are screwed) and vehicles completely change the game. It's skill based, but it's not tactical in the least.
Halo is an arena shooter, not a tactical shooter. Well, most of the Halos are. (we don't talk about Halo 4 much in /r/Halo.) So again, nothing like CSGO. Though probably the closest as far as how much skill matters.
CSGO is still the only game I've ever played where, even playing on the same handful of maps over and over again, I'm continually surprised by the outcome of rounds and games, and where you will never experience the same game twice. |

| Trying CSGO is completely different than playing CSGO. Your first time playing Counter-Strike, you are going to suck. You are not going to understand anything. It has a relatively simple and admittedly generic look to it. Someone who's never played Counter-Strike before is probably going to expect gunplay similar to that of Call of Duty. It takes quite some time to learn how to play CSGO. I've got 600 hours on record and I'm still only mediocre. Writing off CSGO as generic after simply trying it is like writing off Childish Gambino's last album as generic after only listening to the first half. |

| Yes, that whole "have to shoot in the head" thing is called skill. Oh, and the gun skins are completely cosmetic and make absolutely zero difference. They're just for fun. Someone with absolutely no skins is on completely level ground with someone with reds. |

When did you try it per chance? The game is now completely different from beta and initial release.
And did you play competitive, casual, or a community server? |

phoon is not a scripter, somebody completely misconstrued that youtube video.
(warning: profanity) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYEyIGLRqW0
^that is phoon, a legendary ESEA player in CS source. He earned his claim to fame when his frag movie in 2010 went viral.
To be clear, that's probably not what you encountered. You can't bhop in CS:GO, the game slows you down after a certain speed, you can maybe get two hops down before you get stopped. It was made to make the game more competitive, and to counter scripters since VAC can't stop you from using AHK. |

You play on console, of course you've never run into a hacker. There are plenty of anticheats on PC, VAC just uses a delayed ban system by design, and it actually makes a lot of sense, though I'm not going to go into it on this thread.

So you mean to tell me that you don't play Halo on a console?
Because if you're talking about Halo 1 on PC, well... The reason you've never run into a hacker on Halo PC is because nobody cares enough about it to cheat in it. The community in Halo on PC is so small at this point that cheating in it would piss off so few people that it isn't worth the time. |

Oh and about Battlefield
Battlefield cheaters are uncommon because it uses PunkBuster, the most effective anti-cheat.... but also the biggest pain in the ass. Sure, it weeds out cheaters... but it blocks more legitimate players from getting into the game because it has such a hamhanded filter. I don't think I've ever played one PunkBuster game that worked on the first try. |
