These are rumors being thrown around the past week.
Altidore has been linked to NYRB, Toronto FC, and Portland Timbers. Kljestan has been linked to NYRB, and Philadelphia Union. Drogba has been linked to Portland. Adebayor is being shopped around MLS by Tottenham. Ameobi is currently in the United States seeking an MLS contract. Giovinco has been linked to Toronto FC. Maloney has been linked to Chicago Fire. |

Well they definitely didn't start out right and they haven't played a single game. They managed to lie about owning Frank Lampard's contract to sell season tickets and pissed off a whole bunch of people when Manchester City actually realized they could use him for a title run. |

if NYFC fans believe anything but the fact that their team is a glorified farm squad, they're stupid |

| The only important loss for SKC was Aurelien Collin, and they traded for Jalil Anibaba to get cover for him. They signed a Chilean goalkeeper who will probably start, but other than that they didn't change much |

Nope They all know that. I don't know why Garber thought it was a good idea to let Manchester City own a team, as if he didn't learn his mistake from Chivas USA. He was forcing a 2nd NY team when it wasn't necessary just for $$$ and marketing. Other grassroots efforts much more deserving of a team. |

| I thought Frank Lampard did join New York City FC. I'm pretty sure I just read something today that he officially signed with them. |

| Not necessarily. There's a specific model/criteria required to be considered for MLS Expansion, but there's also worry from the league office of having too many small markets (Portland, Salt Lake City, Columbus) that don't draw attention outside of said small market and big name signings. Which is why we see Miami (which has already failed once) and Las Vegas in the discussion for a team. |

"I thought Frank Lampard did join New York City FC. I'm pretty sure I just read something today that he officially signed with them."
City Football Group told NYCFC fans in July that Frank Lampard signed for them and that he would be loaned to Manchester City. Lampard never signed with NYCFC. He instead had a verbal agreement to sign a contract with them later on after his loan to Manchester City. Nobody thought he would be as important as he is now to Manchester City's title run and City decided to pursue extension of his loan. Because he was signed to Manchester City and not NYCFC like CFG led everyone to believe, NYCFC had no say/leverage in the matter and it was only recently revealed that Lampard had indeed never signed with NYCFC. He only today signed a pre-contract to join NYCFC on July 1. The entire thing was a mess. |
