meaningful discussion time.
I think it is perfectly okay to scam anyone who has scammed another person, and if you have the opportunity to, please do it. I lost DI awhile back, had the opportunity to take his Magic Flower Top Hat, if I knew he was going to take my DI at the time, I would've.
Thoughts? Opinions?

Even though it's good to give people a taste of their own medicine, it's never a good idea to stoop that low to their level.

While I dislike scammers and scamming in general, I do believe in the saying of "an eye for an eye."
I've been known by many names, but this is the most fitting. R$77,510 |

What about giving back to people who they scammed?

I don't think it's okay to scam no matter what the circumstance
But say they stole 30k from you and kept it
Would it be scamming if u were to steal 30k back from the same person?

Absolutely.
If you scammed a scammer, you should give back the items to their rightful owners.

While it might be some sort of "payback" or "revenge", you still have items that are not rightfully yours. Is the feeling of payback worth more than the items that were taken in certain circumstances?

hold your horses.
if a thief smacked you off your bike. then he rode it to his house.
If you had to opportunity when his garage door was open to get your bike back.
and you took YOUR OWN bike back THAT HE STOLE, would that make you a thief also? :O
but wait stealing is illegal here right! But that bike is still yours!
do you think if he called the police on you, that you would get in trouble?
No you wouldn't you just took back what was yours, the thief that called the police would be in trouble for STEALING YOUR BIKE!
If he steals it, it doesn't mean its automatically his... that serial number is still on there, and indicates its yours... its still your bike. |

It's a matter of what you define as ownership. I define it as having something in your possession, so from that you could say that if someone steals it, then it is truthfully, theirs.

@swordron
It's the feeling of payback, it's human emotion to want to inflict something bad upon those who treat you bad. It's the cause of suicide, bullying, school shootings, etc etc.

@Dis
so your saying.
someone steals my phone.
I contact the police and have them track it.
they find it, but they come to me and say its not mines anymore because he stole it from you.
sorry but that sounds completely stupid. |

It is okay but you do it at your own discretion. If they directly took something from you then you have every right to take whats yours even if you get called a scammer.

@SUBZERO
In the world of literalness, yeah I guess that would be what happens. By definition, I think that it would make it theirs, but that isn't how the world works.

The only problem is that you can never have enough proof to who scammed who unless they scammed you. One of the biggest flaws in all this
