This guide is written to assist and teach NJ State Troopers in their duties and patrols. This is the sane information given in Basic Training to the new Cadets.
Section I: The Car -The NJSP Car is one of the Trooper's most valuable tools. -In 2014, the NJ State Police introduced the NJSP Dodge Charger as the primary squad car. -The car is used to transport Troopers to their calls and transport criminals to jail. -The back seats can be controlled in the lights and sirens menu.
Section II: Crimes and how they are classified. -Crimes committed by criminals can be classified into 3 categories: Minor, Moderate, and Major. A) Minor: - Some examples of minor crimes are speeding, illegal parking. -The penalty for a minor crime is a ticket. B) Moderate: -Some examples of moderate crimes are Hitting and Killing a Pedestrian, Accidental Murder, trespassing and any crime of peaceful surrender. -In moderate crimes, the suspect is transported to prison by car. C) Major: -Some examples of major crimes are Murder, Grand Theft Auto, Attempted Murder, and any Non-peaceful surrender. -In Major crimes, the suspect is transported to jail by ARREST TOOL.
Section III: Superiors -The ranking structure of NJSP is critical to giving orders. -Once a cadet becomes a Trooper I, he/she needs to obey every order from anyone above him/her. -All NJ State Troopers are to obey their superiors' orders.
Section IV: Punishment Policy -If a Trooper disobeys an order or command from a superior, this is how the trooper will be dealt with: - The NJ State Police Superintendent and NJ Attorney General reserve the right to suspend any Trooper for disobedience or misconduct.
Section V: Warrants -WARRANTS MUST Be signed by a New Jersey Judge -Warrants will be shouted on the NJ State Police Group Wall. -Warrants need to be read and shared throughout the department. -Warrants need to be served as soon as possible when found. -Warrants are considered Major Crimes unless the suspect is surrendering peacefully.
Section VI:Patrols -Patrols are held at counties (Bergen, Mercer, And Ocean) -Briefing Before Patrol held in Station -PRIMARY Highways and Interstates (If no local police NJSP has jurisdiction in the entire state of NJ (N.J.S.A 32:21A) -Patrols to county towards a promotion must be held my a approved watch commander. -Shouts for patrols will be ([SHIFT]/[PATROL] Time in EST, and location
