*This isn't really a suggestion. It's a question regarding something in WNTS*
I very rarely see mods active on the forums, except SlingshotJunkie who I see sometimes.
Yet I see inappropriate things on forums that go unnoticed by mods daily almost, especially in OT and sometimes S&I. Considering that there are a lot of people who are on forums daily that try to report these threads (sometimes to no avail), it seems like a poor idea to not allow volunteer forum mods.
I'm not asking to be a volunteer mod, but I think that if the mods recruited a couple responsible people and gave them the power to lock threads/maybe ban people who break the rules, it might be a step towards a cleaner forums.
I know that some people might abuse this power, like if they lock threads that weren't breaking the rules, or ban innocent users. But worst-case scenario, the real mods can unlock the threads, unban the "victims", and punish the person who abused it. Since the person who abused it would most likely be a volunteer, it's not like they could sue ROBLOX.

I think a list of online moderators, along with an alert (possibly an icon on the thread) to know if a moderator viewed your thread would be handy.
I'd like to know how many active moderators they actually have.. I'm having doubts. |

I mean, I like the idea though.
More mods to actually read our S&I's and maybe take them to consideration, or discuss them?

@Lick: I know they probably won't do this, but it was just an idea.
@Nyxis: I agree. I don't think most of the mods even check the forums. I like your idea, too.
@Albert: That's why it'd be a volunteer. People who really try to keep the website clean could volunteer for it, but they wouldn't get paid.

@Lick: That's a good point; if there were more volunteer mods, maybe some of the volunteer mods could discuss some threads from S&I with the main mods. I feel like S&I is (ironically) the subforum least-visited by mods.

Maybe mods for different forum subjects?
Or do they already have that? I don't know.
You know how it also says "top poster", instead it'll say "volunteer mod", or whatever, in yellow, green or blue writing.

What do you mean different forum subjects?
Like, the different subforums?

Hmm. It might work, but it might kind of reduce the power of it. For example, if a volunteer mod from S&I saw something inappropriate on ATR, they wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

| Then a mod from ATR would have to view it, and do something. They CAN do something, actually. They can inform the mods of ATR, then they'll remove it OR ban. |

I suppose that could work. They'd have to get a lot of volunteers (though I doubt that'd be an issue).
Anyways, I just found a thread that should be locked for spam/troll. It's gotten a lot of replies, so if any mods were active here, they surely would have noticed it. If I or someone else were a volunteer mod, that could've been locked 2 weeks ago. http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=152009193

| It would make roblox 10x better since we would have amazing features, then people would stop saying roblox is a copy of minecraft since people would actually play it. |

One of my friends who played ROBLOX like since 2008 said that this won't work, because one of the volunteer mods wasn't online on the time that they were supposed to be online moderating
People started to break rules because none of the volunteer mods was online
And that is why ROBLOX didn't want to use this method again.

People don't need to have shifts. The admins should choose the most active, mature people who volunteer.
Since most people volunteering would probably be teenagers, it's not like they have a set schedule of when they're online, but I'd imagine most of them who volunteer would be on every day or two.
