Early in the morning 4 escape pods crashed into the middle of a temperate forest on an unknown rimworld. Each escape pod contained meals for a week, a weapon and some material with which to construct shelter and establish power systems.
67 year old Dave "EightOneU" Rowe was the first to get out of his pod, despite his old age his body was in great form, as a child he worked within his tribe as a miner and crop tender. In his adult life he was a empath on a glitterworld (the worlds where the rich and important live) there he mastered the skill of socialization and got pretty good at medicine, but his lifestyle meant he never wanted to harm another and as such will not. His personality is optimistic and hard working but mentally his nerves can get the better of him more often than most.
28 year old Yakov "Darkran" Leonard was educated deep in a toxic world, he learnt basic skills like medicine and researching but never had chance for physical labour and as such his body is weaker. In his adult life he served as a military commander in the imperial army, he knew how to shoot and keep his men in line, he was unpopular but he got the job done. He is a quick walker due to his military background.
32 year old female bartender Hally "Hellbound" Orion grew up as a scout, she was taught there to follow orders and not ask questions, she wasn't given time for education in art or research and as such is incapable of both. As an adult she took to bartending, she learnt a little bit of cooking and listening to people's problems. It also including bashing and throwing out some rowdy drunks, she wasn't good at any of it. She is a hard worker though and can get things done faster than people of her skill level.
Christopher "CMPunk" Dorsey is a 31 year old medieval lord turned navy scientist, in his youth he was a rich noble and learnt the court live of socialization but never had to do physical labour. In his adult life he left the medieval planet and took to science, he excelled in it and become one of the imperial navies top scientists.
These are the people that crash landed on an unknown and most likely hostile rimworld, they must try to survive and find a way to escape back to civilization.

As the first day dawned they quickly got to work, darkran gave out weaponary to all but EightOneU because of his beliefs. A lee enfield for him as he was the best shot and pistols to hellbound and CMPunk. EightOneU suggested they dig into a nearby hill for shelter from the elements and so they set about mining and digging. After a long day of work and being rained on they finally broke through into a open area which they could call adequate shelter. They moved their meagre supplies to just outside the entrance and rested inside for the night, in the morning they had so much more to do.

Day two and three brought more rain and they started to plant potatoes outside their small cave, their food packs wouldn't last forever. They also walled up the cave and installed a door for their own safety and to keep the animals out. CMPunk suggested that they wall up around a nearby steam geyser and then install a generator there for power needs, the walls would be to protect the electronics of course. And last of all after the generator was constructed and the walls enforced they built a table to eat their meals at, eating off the floor wasn't civil and brought down their mood considerably.

By day four the power is set up and darkran puts up a simple turret outside their door. They also install sunlamps by their potato plants so that they grow even through the night, expansion of their cave occurs with plans of a nutrient paste dispenser, their own rooms and real beds and a research station.
In more dramatic news a rabid squirrel rushed in through the open door, taking shots from the turret but it managed to bite darkran a few times before the colonists put him down. Darkran despite being a military commander was put under brief medical care because of the squirrel's attack.

Day 5 and 6 are uneventful, some people show up to investigate the colony but leave without saying a word and thankfully firing a shot. The colonists mine some more and finish the paste dispenser, once the potatoes are harvested they could use this machine to output bad tasting but nutritious meals. CMPunk decides he is going to dedicate all his time to researching a more efficient paste dispenser that'll use less potatoes in it's output.

The week ends in a stroke of good luck, the last packaged meals were consumed the night before and the potatoes weren't ready for harvest by the morning. However some wreckage crashes a few minutes away from the colony and what do they find inside?
A horde of raw potatoes.
They haul their new fortune to the nutrient paste dispenser and eat brilliant (awful tasting) meals and spend the rest of the day hauling to potatoes and cutting down trees for more wood. CMPunk finishes his research to make their dispenser more efficient by nightfall and then starts to work on turret cooling, to make their turret fire 4 shots in a burst instead of 3.
Darkran also suggests that they name their colony (Default name the game has given me is "Jacobstown")
What should the colony be called?

Day Eight, more turrets were added to the outside to protect the colony interior. The hoppers are finished and more interior mining is happening. Research of 4 round bursts for the turrets is completed by nightfall and then research is put towards better picks for faster mining.

Day 9 through to day 12, more potato farming, expansion of the farm to meet the food demands, mining and the creation and decoration of the first private room (Darkran's room). Research brings about the better picks and also the means to make carpets, research begins on stonecutting. More wild boars run at the colony but are shot down before they get within reach to hurt anybody.
Hellbound got the plague, not a big deal as darkran managed to treat her often enough that she developed an immunity

Day 12 to the end of week two, power starts to wear thin and plans to build another generator and run a powerline back to the colony is made. Research is halted as CMPunk decides to assist in construction and mining to speed up the process, rooms are being mined out for individual colonists. As the dawn of the 13th day comes a solar flare occurs shutting off all electrical equipment including the food maker and all the turrets. The colonists are left undefended for at least a day and must eat their potatoes raw.

Week 3 and new screenshots

CMpunk got plague and EightOneU got the flu at the same time, darkran is pretty good at medicine though and we had enough medicine left over that it was barely a problem. Generator two was set up and wired to the main power grid, batteries were also set up for the event we over expand out turrets again. The solar flare lasted a few days but there was no further problems except having to eat our potatoes raw. everyone ends up getting their own room by the end of the week, also a small prisoner hold is set up incase we capture anyone during a raid.
Surprisingly it's been 3 weeks and we haven't been attacked once.

Oh yeah once the physic drone crashes the colony is dead, we dont have the shooting skill to actually kill a centipede yet.
Hopefully we can scam a slave trader and weapons trader well enough to get something decent going on.

Week 4 brought an attack from a tribal raiding party. Or at least it sort of did. The tribal raiding party was 1 man with a club, he didn't even reach the walls before the turrets brought him down dead. The colonists stripped him and put his body in a grave along the southern walls. Coloured lights research was finished, work began on cremation to deal with the unwanted corpses of animals lying about. A trading computer was set up and in exchange for half their silver the colonists bought a r4 charge rifle which darkran started to use. By the week end they had also built walls and roofs around their farm and their stockpile due to the rain causing fire on their lamps.
