i dont think you should need to spend that much
surely there is a cheaper build which will do everything you want. |

"Intel Core i7-5960X"
What exactly would you need an 8-cores for? |

I built a gaming PC that runned Skyrim on ultra with little over 800$ i didn't get to install any other games because i installed the fan wrong and the PC overheated but yea it doesn't need to be THAT expensive unless you want it to last you like 10-15 years

you can get a very powerful computer with a 2x GTX titan 12GB vram and really good ram and processor for 1.5k I think.

@Rusty
If you plan on using it as both a casual gaming pc and a workstation you could save a lot of money by just going with an Intel core i7-4790K processor which is clocked at 4.0Ghz and it has 4 cores with Hyperthreading, 8MB of L3 cache and you would be all set. That processor is a great workstation processor. I am throwing that into mine. |

I usually go to newegg to find out what I want, and then I usually buy from local areas. My Best Buy and Fry's almost always have what I want PC-wise. Things like the CPU and GPU I'll have to order online, though. |

@Pest
Actually that is where you are wrong. If you have a 64-bit operating system it can take advantage of 8GBs or more. |
