If a player is touching a side of a part?
Not the part, but only for example the left surface side... |

| It might be best to make each face an individual part, however you could try to determine which face it is touching based on it's relative position to the part, although I'm not sure if that'd be entirely accurate. |

| You could do what lordrambo said. Or maybe use raycasting. |

Lordrambo, that was the obvious thing and I'm not doing that (individual parts)
And how would I use raycasting for this? |

Like, I make the origin the part's side position and then make it fire towards a user comming to near it or something like that
not sure how im gonna do it |
