| I have over 10,000 pictures from up to 5 years ago, and I make iCloud backups of my phone, iPad, and ipods every day. Everything else goes on Dropbox |

Yes just give all of your stuff to the NSA. I do local backups because cloud services don't respect user privacy. |

iCloud is encrypted and it is reported the government is mad they can't access it anymore
Most of my Dropbox data is encrypted. Everything else not important is free to be stolen |

| I don't think you do. The NSA works with companies that produce encryption algorithms to make them purposely weak and they could easily force them to hand over the keys. Companies can be forced to work with them and won't be able to talk about it due to gag orders. |

Apple and Dropbox don't do this though. |

They can tell you. You realize that if something is encrypted to where the company can not open it, then it is perfectly legal to keep the government out of it. Just like Apple and Dropbox |

How do you know for sure? How do you know that Apple & Drop-box aren't lying about it so they don't get taken down by the NSA?
Where'd you get this info from?

No they can't, that's the thing. When the NSA forces a company to give them access to their servers the company is given a gag order so they can't talk about it. Keep on trusting corporations that don't care about you though. |

Apple and Dropbox were both given perfect ratings by the Electronic Frontier Foundation
Apple and Dropbox are transparent and very technical in documenting their security
If you've ever developed for iOS and Dropbox API, you'd know how safe it is |

That's how it used to be dummy :-) However, it is a federal law that has been observed in court that if a software is encrypted and the company does not have the keys, they do not have to unlock it for the government

Nice ad hominem mate. I like how not trusting corporations makes me a tin foiler.

All I'm saying is unless the software they host their servers on is open source that has been thoroughly audited it can't be trusted. |

It's an actual law. Why would I be worried about having my phone data and 10,000 photos looked at |

So I take it you wouldn't mind having cameras in your room for pervs to watch you because you don't care about privacy, which is a human right according to the UN. |

@OP Government can easily access any photo, search history, or anything that is or ever WAS on your phone no matter what encryption. They can also see through the camera in your phone whether it's turned on or not. |
