4GB will be fine for most tasks, including most games
running two sticks of the same RAM in the proper slots enables dual channel mode which give a slight boost
nothing particularly insane (you aren't going to get like an extra 10FPS in games or anything) but it's still there nonetheless
with only one stick you can't really access this, so there's no point
just get 4GB or 8GB
unless of course you're getting the third stick for free |

get 8gb not 4
you'll be getting ready for any near-future games that come out that will be a memory-hog |

Tip: A 2x4 setup is recommended on most gaming PC's nowadays.
We don't really know, if your current computer even supports 6GB of RAM. Is it possible for you to tell us your CPU and Operating System? |

"you can have it dont listen to the guy thats trying to tell you 4 is better than 6"
Please do not correct me without any computer knowledge, please.
Some CPU's may not support over X GB of RAM and some operating systems don't support over 4GB of RAM, so there is a possibility his current computer does not support it. Old motherboards may also restrict it to X GB of RAM and only support a few frequency options. |

what do you need 6gb for unless you're doing some serious rendering its kind of useless because you're going to need more than that. |
