| I know Nintendo is not doing so well with the Wii U but I think if another crash were to occur I think Nintendo would once again may be able to save the industry. Currently Nintendo doesn't focus to much on graphics but rather the innovation and quality of the game. Its companies like Ubisoft that may cause the second crash of videogames by simply making games that are buggy and unfinished like Assassin's Creed Unity just to get it onto store shelf's to make a quick buck. |

Nope.
There is no indication at all that the industry is going this way, and if it happens, I doubt Nintendo will be the ones saving the industry.
A quick google search on "Video Game Crash 2-" provides the suggestions of "Video Game Crash 2011/12/13/14/15". That it has been theorized about for the last half-decade and not happened yet, well, I'd say that says a lot about it.
Alarmists always make these theories every time they find something that even remotely could suggest it. |

Nintendo's not saving the video game industry again, the 80's and 90's kids who were their target audience have moved on since then.
I could only imagine the video game industry disappearing once mobile games take over.
you cannot shoot me because this is a cutscene to make the game feel more dramatic like a movie |

"this might be the last generation of consoles"
okay, so does this mean that we call xbox 360 and ps3 last-gen, or do we call xbox one and ps4 last-gen? |

video game industry won't crash there don't exist heavily overhyped games right now when they did when E.T. around so video game crash is nearly impossible a miracle or in this case a dismiracle has to happen for the video game industry to crash |

| Get out. The only reason a Video game crash happpened in the 70's or 80's or whatever is because of lack of quality games and today there are for sure ALOT of quality games on the market oh and the crash also because of the Atari 2600. |

| Also Atari was also responsable for Polyibus because the CIA reached out to them for them to make an LSD game. |

The gamer populaty IS pretty, high. But i think that mostly E.A (Eletronic Arts) Will cause it due, not due to the massive gaming industry and Their games terrible buggy games, but mostly due to the fact that E.A has been claimed the worst company in history 2 Times. |

I don't see a PC revolution
I don't see a lack of quality control on consoles
I don't see it happened |

>necrobumping your own thread
But anyway, to be honest, I think a real crash would happen if/when the indie scene were to go belly up with AAA stuff following, not just if AAA messed up. During the last severe crash, there was basically no indie game scene, but now it's grown quite a bit. If AAA were to go into dark times, people could turn to indie games, which would heighten demand for them, plus it would probably make AAA see what they're doing wrong to at least some degree. If the indie scene were to die though, then there wouldn't be many new people going into AAA. |

hehehe so many idiots in this thread it hurts to read, seriously "another crash were to occur" "crash" no indication of this happening in the near future ._. "consoles will be gone by next gen generic argument iowphfipwhfia" steam has roughly 6 million active users the last time i checked, the entire console population has roughly 40 million ps4/one/wii us and 250ish last gen consoles in circulation, unless something comes up there is too much money in the business to stop making consoles. |

"no indication of this happening in the near future ._."
I'm honestly curious, where do you see indications of a crash in the next five years? |

| the games industry has gotten too large to crash as a whole, although a crash would have happened if M$ got their way when they revealed the x1 |
