I would like to start off by saying I have not been an active builder scene 2010. I used to build all the time, and when I used to build I would always do it in Build mode because I could get a good feel for scale and primarily could use the"Cframe edit" tool which you cannot use in the "Edit" mode. I could also insert models and tools. But now you can no longer insert anything in build mode it seems. I'm constantly switching between the edit and build mode to do any work, and it is extremely time consuming to get anything done. I know for the Cframe issue you can do it through toggling the "cancollide" mode, but that is also very time consuming. Is there any other way to insert models or the Cframe tool in Build mode?

Use parts instead of models.

I'm also having trouble with using Cframe on meshes. They only seem to move and wont rotate.

There's a build tool that allows you to move, resize, rotate, add lighting, almost everything imaginable. All in build mode, or edit mode. You can even insert models using it, assuming you know what you're doing.
It's called f3x, insert it into the starter-pack before building and get rid of it when you're done. (or keep it)

isn't build mode more time consuming than edit?

Yes. But you cannot use any form of Cframe in Edit.
