it's not. if you're going to build a gaming computer, pick out your graphics card first. Second, you pick RAM (8gb is fine, but 12+ is great). third, i would get a good processor (something like intel i5+ or AMD FX8320). Lastly, get a motherboard that has lots of ram slots (4 is more than enough). after this, just get the rest of the parts needed, these dont really affect computer speed.
TL;DR GPU > RAM |

You lost me at AMD FX, and when I heard "these dont affect computer speed" I almost spit out my eggnog.
Speed isnt everything and if you really are looking for speed, raid your SSDs AND DONT PICK YOUR CARD FIRST Pick out your Motherboard first, to see if the card you want is compatible There's someone in my head but it's not me... |

an i3 is just fine.
I mean that's not "STREAMING ON TWITCH 24/7 WITH 16 INSTANCES OF CRYSIS 3 ON 8K HD AT 420FPS" kind of Processor it's just right.
I game. It's made for gaming but I don't need an i7. After all the only time I'll need an i7 is for Wii Emulation. |

"Sorry bruh, can't make it today. I got tota-frickin' RAM'd last night." |

Unless you're one of those online gaming scrubs, Wi-Fi doesn't work Many games do not need Wi-Fi, like Skyrim, Assassins Creed, etc. RAM goes last, and GPU goes before it

@spicy 1. I find solid state drives to be a waste, but I've never used one so may I ask how good they are? shoot I boot my OS off of it and use a hard drive for the rest?
2. I thought I change the title to "everything for gaming computer", guess i screwed up
3. yes, they do affect comp speed, but not as drastically as the parts i have lsted |

Hey hey hey, I don't use a wifi card myself. I use an ethernet cable with a powerline adapter (these things are from heaven, I swear)
If someone wants to use a wifi card, they can though. I jus tuse the term to refer to "internet connection" |

well, I like online gaming. Skyrim's fun, though.
To me, I don't really lag unless I connect to the internet |

Or as an alternative, if you dare so to do...*
Bring out some liquid nitrogen, an AMD FX-9590 CPU, and two GeForce GTX 980's in SLI.
Overclocking time.
* = This is probably highly impractical.

1 A: SSDs are more expensive for a reason, they're made to be around 2-3x faster depending on the manufacturer. Samsung makes the best. So, let's say you raid one, two 250GB SSDs would be about 7 times faster than a lets say 2TB HDD. They're worth it Sick of long load screens? get a SSD
