--Servers-- So, ROBLOX released a new ability for game owner's to allow players to buy a VIP Server. You can better understand this as a "Private Server"(say, a private minecraft, or dayz server that you control.)
You have total power over this server, and can invite whoever you wish to play in it with you. This is a nice feature if you and your friends play a specific game, without others interrupting it. If the game owners can be crafty about it, and the API allows it, then they could code in some special features for owners of said VIP server, such as admin abilities.
When a user buys a Private Server, it is usually set to around $100 Robux. This is more of a subscription, as it is renewed monthly. The owner of the game who sold the Private Server, will not see this Robux until the NEXT billing cycle. This is a method put in place to prevent an owner of a game from shutting down any and all private servers after a few days use. The owner of the private server can choose to whitelist it to anyone, a select group of people, or to all of his/her friends. This does not, at the moment, apply to a person's followers(See next section.) This is the current standard for Version 1.
For Version 2, as stated above, the owner of the game will not see the Robux until the next billing cycle. This is currently not implemented yet, so be warned. It is unconfirmed what % of the cut of Robux an owner will receive, and more of that should be announced later.
--Followers-- The other new feature is the Follower ability. Instead of having thousands, or hundreds of thousands of random people on the internet being your "friend," you can instead choose to set them as a Follower. Think of this as a "Subscribe" to your own personal page(Your account,) and that whatever you do, update or game play wise, will be notified to follower fan base. The friends tab, to my knowledge, will now server as a means of staying in contact with those you either Trust very well, know Personally, or as a means to expand your Best Friend List.
By having a friends and followers list, you can now easily test Friend Only games privately, with a select group of those you will trust to actively give you feedback on your game. It allows easy management of your fan base, and friends, at the same time.
--TL;DR-- Private Minecraft/DayZ Esq ROBLOX servers that people cant profit from after 30 days, and in V2.
Friends list converted to Follower list(Think subscribers)
Discuss: What games do you think would benefit from private servers, and how people would manage this network of people? |

I have a question: If we buy the VIP Server and we get off of that server can we go on that server at any time or do we have to re buy it every time we want to go on it? |
