A leader whom does everything they can to get their clan up and running, then keep it running - making any improvements needed, ignoring the hate from C&G. A leader who organizes every part of their clan, and listens to CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.
A true leader does not control their members, they support them. They must have done research to (sort of) follow examples of other clans, yet stick to a unique and interesting concept of their own.
And also, being professional as far as wars/raids/defenses against their enemies go is a good trait to possess. |

I agree with all your points, except the very last one.
Yes it is useful, but I don't feel that being a professional has a major impact on leadership. |

I know, it was just a suggestion.
Being professional usually ends well for their reputation. |

Groups here are made of members, lead by someone or a group of people, such a Valor Legion. If those people don't like their leader for whatever reasons, then they may leave that group in search for a group with a leader they find more fit for a leadership role.
noun 1. a person or thing that leads. 2. a guiding or directing head, as of an army, movement, or political group. 3. Music. a conductor or director, as of an orchestra, band, or chorus. the player at the head of the first violins in an orchestra, the principal cornetist in a band, or the principal soprano in a chorus, to whom any incidental solos are usually assigned.
And so, without common interests, thoughts, opinions, ethics, values, and ambition, a group would not be.
Although obvious some leaders are not to your standards, no to your standards, and us not to their own standards, we cannot judge as for who is a bad leader, and whom is a good leader. Perspective plays a high role in this small debate. We see a sharp decrease in members (active members in larger groups) when a new leader comes in to the scene whom has much varied thoughts compared to the previous leader. Such thoughts the active members shared with the previous leader and are now against the new leaders opinions.
Just remember, there are far more clans on here that aren't war based, each with a leader. |

"A true leader does not control their members"
Control is a key aspect to a good clan.
Looking at the USA's successful government sharing of powers, the executive branch (the president, falling under a leader) is an enforcer of the laws with the rest of the people.
Control is crucial. |

@Corolis. That's not control, that's discipline.
@Ancorius. I believe many people would surely agree with you. |

@OP;
"dis·ci·pline ˈdisəplən/ noun 1. the practice of training people to obey rules or a code of behavior, using punishment to correct disobedience."
"con·trol kənˈtrōl/ noun 1. the power to influence or direct people's behavior or the course of events." |
