WIJ Newsletter Edition 3 [0.0] Contents [0.1] Summary/Announcements [0.2] What’s to come [0.3] War situations [0.4] Voice of the People - Logman79 [0.5] Interview with Diligent27 [0.6] Should it be harder to become Officer?
[0.1] Summary/Announcements > Resignation of Kingkendrick141 Kingkendrick141 resigned from the WIJ Corporation approximately two weeks ago. Thanks for all your hard work in the Corporation.
> Livestreams Voile will be livestreaming development of Cerulean II on Saturdays and some Fridays. The twitch channel is WIJChannel.

> Promotion of Diligent27 Diligent27 was promoted to Commander about two weeks ago. Article 0.5 is an interview about this promotion - check it out!
[0.2] What’s to come This article is going to be listing a few things that have been announced, what’s to come, stuff like that. Not much in this article will be new information, but some of it was released to a small crowd (for example, the viewers of Voile’s livestream), so some of this may be new to you.
> New guns I can’t go into detail, mainly because there is no detail, but there are going to be new guns. I’ve mentioned this in the past, but I only talked about the plasma bow and maybe the constant beam rifle. Here’s a list of all the new toys we’re expecting. >> Heavy pistol >> Medigun >> Marksman rifle >> Bolt action rifle >> Plasma bow >> Constant beam rifle >> Automatic shotgun >> Dual SKP >> Dual Y14 >> Gravity hammer
The idea of equipment was thrown around in the ORIGINAL announcement of wARC title update 2. That was around a year and a half ago, though, so don’t count on it.

[ EDITOR’S NOTE - THESE PLANS ARE NOT FINAL. SERIOUSLY, DON’T GET YOUR HOPES COMPLETELY UP. ]
[0.3] War situations > VAK VAK’s one month war against WIJ has ended. Of course, because WIJ did not accept the war and counter-attack, VAK didn’t declare victory. They had about 20 victories at Indigo II over the course of around four weeks. That’s some pretty good defending.
> Sleet Clan Sleet Clan declared war on WIJ earlier today. HICOM hasn’t released any official statement regarding whether or not we’ll go to war with SC. It’s highly possible that we won’t go to war with SC due to our war policy, but that’s not a definitive no.
Offensive raids have been launched against SC. We pretty much always do that when someone declares war, though, so this does not guarantee war. Keep in mind that the raids are being led by HICOM and you aren’t authorized to do your own raid in the name of WIJ.

[0.4] Voice of the People - Logman79 We’re trying out a new “series” within the newsletter - Voice of the People. This is just an experiment, so feel free to put your feedback in the replies.
This edition, we’ll be seeing what Commander Logman79 has to say.
> “What would you change in WIJ?” I asked Log what he would change in the WIJ Corporation. His response was very simple - change the attitude and activity level of the Officer Council. Why? The Council is basically the center of WIJ Operations. Officers have quite a lot of liberty - even if they don’t know it. If the Officers have an aggressive stance towards activity, a lot of things will get done. If they have a passive stance, not as much will be accomplished.
> A reform? Another thing that Logman told me is that wanted a reform. More specifically, an Officer reform - most if not all of it would be centered on the Council. The reform would do two things. Firstly, it’d get rid of the inactive Officers. Doing that would effectively encourage Officers to do their job, thus resulting in a positive outcome.
Another thing he said he’d change in the reform is how easy it is to become an Officer. To be specific, he’d bring back the old Officer tests, or some other form of test. Quite simply, a commission isn’t always enough; it’s quite easy to get promoted to Officer with just that. A test, however, may increase the amount of higher quality Officers and potentially reduce inactivity.
> Conclusion Commander Logman believes that the Officers need a reform - one that’d be good for all of WIJ. Is he right? Personally, I believe so; the Officers are the center of WIJ.
Interestingly, we have an argumentative about increasing the requirements for Officer that was written prior to this interview. It’s just after this next article.

[0.5] Interview with Diligent27 > Diligent27's Promotion to Commander > Background Diligent27 is a well respected WIJ Commander, Shock Trooper Recon and Corus Journalist. He has served in WIJ for several years. About two weeks ago, Diligent27 was promoted to Commander for being a valuable asset in WIJ. He has been interviewed on his promotion and what he plans to do in the future.
Q: What do you like most of being a Commander compared to being a Lieutenant?
A: I feel more appreciated. I view promotions as a way for HICOM to tell you that they recognize your hard work and dedication.
Q: What have you done to earn your rank?
A: I do whatever I can to be beneficial to WIJ.
Q: Who would you thank the most for your promotion?
A: There are several people who have always supported me, such as Colonel AmazingAnt and Sentinel Howhyy. They are true friends, and I wouldn't have made it this far without them.
Q: What goals do you have in the future for your WIJ Career?
A: My main goal is simply to have fun. I want to experience everything WIJ has to offer.

[0.6] Should we make it harder to become Officer? > “We should make it harder to become an Officer.” I’ve heard this suggestion thrown around a few times. Heck, even I said it at some point, I bet. Is it really a good idea, though? Let’s check it out and see some potential consequences - or benefits.
> Less Officers Obviously, if it was harder to become an Officer, we’d have less Officers. Would this be a bad thing? Yes and no. On one hand, having less Officers would mean that we wouldn’t have such a large variety of Officers in different time zones. It’d also mean that if just a few of them went inactive, we’d need more Officers - Officers that we wouldn’t be able to get. On the other hand, however, it’d mean that the Officers are more well trained. It probably wouldn’t be such a significant difference that it’d be worth the risk, though.
> Potentially more productivity Like I said above, the harder it is to become an Officer, the better the Officer will be. Therefore, the Council would potentially be more productive. Why do I say potentially? Because we’d have less Officers, it’s also possible that they’d be less productive. On an individual level they may be more productive, but collectively, they may not be. Obviously, that’d put quite the damper on things.
> Higher quality leading, training, etc. Everything that the Officers do would be higher quality. That is, presuming the reason it’s harder to become an Officer is because there are more ways to test your abilities. If the cP bar was simply raised, it wouldn’t really have much of a positive outcome; we’d just get Officers less often.
> Conclusion Those are really the main pros and cons. Although we would probably have better leading and such, it wouldn’t be worth the presented risk. Certainly, though, that’s not to say we have bad leaders - the Council is quite good. That being said, there’s really no need for such a measure to be taken, especially since it could put us really deep in a hole.

i'd love to see more varied articles from newsletter to newsletter and more writers
also better organization. an example is "It’s just after this next article." why would you separate two similar articles if they can complement each other
the voice of the people is nice. it's weird you've only presented one person though.
you shouldn't write articles on your opinion too. that's not what newsletters are for. articles like that should be written after talking to HICOM about the matter and learning about it. you have contradictions and some things are wrong on the article about your opinion on an officer reform |

yeah i'd like to see some more writers too, but they're kind of inactive i only received one article from another journalist, which i put in there
we need more journalists
also, the corus guide does say that you can have argumentatives, which is where you put your opinion on something, so if you can clarify, that'd be excellent
and i'll note the other stuff thanks for the feedback |
