I personally hate it when role players make their character trans/neuter and don't actually list their birth gender, saying that it 'doesn't mean anything' or completely just brush it off.
Like, I NEED to know what your birth gender is when I ask for gender, I'm not asking for your preferences or identity---But I'm perfectly fine with you stating your preferences on how your character should be referred as/etc right next to the character's actual gender.
I have absolutely nothing against the LGBT community at all and I fully support having these characters in RP's, but it's really troublesome in a way when somebody completely brushes off the fact that I must have an actual gender that say, a school would know and put in report cards and stuff.
I'm going to prepare for the flame war now. |

@Mage
They float about occasionally. Like little unicorns with wings or something of the like. |

| Well, if there's a trans character who identifies herself as a female, couldn't you assume that they were born as a male? That's not really a necessary fact that you couldn't figure out on your own. :~: |

yupyup abort mission.
@Pawz
I meant it as in neuter characters, I don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that out lol.
I can feel the flame war just beginning. I-I'm just gonna go um, make pretty bracelets. |

I think you overestimate how much people really care about this topic.

@Mage
Passive aggressive Mage has made a return.
Perhaps I may be, but I would appear very insensitive if I did not overestimate the response that may come from this - I know that some of the LGBT community might get really offended by this, and that's OK.
So I don't think my overestimation is without reason. |

Nobody here is really a member of the LGBT community, and if they are they aren't very outspoken.

Then why even comment in the first place? If you're going to call someone else follow up on it. Don't just give up and ramble on about your insomnia. |

AND IF THEY ARE THEY ARE NOT VERY OUTSPOKEN
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO READ THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE!? IT IS A USEFUL SKILL TO LEARN ON AN ENGLISH FORUM. LEARN TO READ AN ENTIRE POST BEFORE COMMENTING.
Thank you. Jesus.

@Mage
She was just sort of defending herself, you know. Just saying that she herself is a member of the community is pretty much all she should really need to do.
And I know that there are LGBT people on the forums, and they are very outspoken. So Mage, I'm not really that sure as to why you haven't noticed them. |

i dunno mage maybe because i wanted to remind everyone that yes not straight people exist and a not straight person resides this subforum currently
also the idea of "birth gender" being THE TRUE AND HONEST gender for everyone is kinda ehhh but im sure you guys will laugh at me or make some dumb jokes about it even when i type up 349038904 paragraphs explaining why or even get some links or whatever i do its always the same here always |

For the love of god.
I have never said "not straight people don't exist." If you're LGBT then this might not come as a shock to you but not everything straight people say on the subject is a personal attack. I said nobody here is LGBT, or if they are they are not very outspoken. This is coming from personal experience. Perhaps there are people around here parading their LGBTness. I have never seen them. |

@Pick
I didn't mean it as like the OH HOLY JESUS GENDER or anything, so I'm really sorry if I sounded insensitive :c
I just meant like, if it's a dorm situation - what am I supposed to do? I mean realistically, unless the person explicitly says that they don't want to, they would have to be placed with their birth gender.
I think what I meant was like, it would be easier for me if they would just put their birth gender and their preferences, and then we wouldn't have to talk about it again.
Ya know? c:
Sorry if I offended you in any way shape or form. |
