Ch 1. Isolation
Tyler sat in his old, dusty house, nobody around. He pretended to flick the channels with his remote, like everything was still normal. He sighed, knowing it would never be back to the way it was. He heard a board smack. He rose up from his couch, thinking. He heard it from the dining room. He grabbed his butcher knife and looked around for what had happened. He heard another split. He went at a quicker pace than before, and entered the dining room. There he saw a zombie pressed up against one of the boarded windows. "Raargaharar!" It groaned. He shook his head, and went out the side door. The zombie turned, with a grunt, and started stumbling over. When it got to the steps of his deck, and slammed the butcher knife into its head. He had a moment for the person, what they used to be, and then dragged the body out of his yard. Quickly, he went back inside before any zombies caught sight of him. |

A little later, Tyler realized his stockpile was running low. He needed to replenish it before it ran out, better safe than sorry. Tyler grabbed his keys, and ran outside to the car. He got in, and started it, trying to avoid the zombies that were approaching from across the street. He drove over his lawn to get away, somewhat regretting ruining his yard. Picking his options, he chose the nearest gas station, a Shell station. No zombies were in sight, he thought. This is good. Getting out of his car, he took his backpack off his back and got ready to loot. He walked inside the dark gas station, to the snacks and food section. He began to dump rows of food into his backpack, until he ran out of room. Tyler cut across to the counter, and just merely looked around, in curiosity. Seeing a shine of light come from the top shelf under the register, he moved a box, revealing a 9mm revolver. He stared at it. He moved around to the other side of the counter, and put a cardboard cutout of Batman as a cashier. He waved the gun at Batman. "Give me your money! This is a robbery!" The cardboard batman did nothing. He then did a different voice. "ahh i'll kill youuu!" He then faked shooting Batman and slid the cash register over, punching batman down so it looked like he got shot. "Dude, you can't kill Batman." Somebody said behind him. Tyler, frightened, jerked backwards and held the revolver to the person's head. "Woah, woah, Don't shoot.." He was a young man, maybe 20-25. "I'm Jeff.. I saw your little acting. No offense, it was pretty bad." Tyler lowered his new gun, embarrassed. "Thanks." They were interrupted by two zombies smashing against the door. |
