I don't know if you are catholic or not but
I get really insulted when people say "x-mas" instead of "christmas"

| This isn't really a suggestion to be honest, it's more or less spam, despite the good intentions behind the post. |

thats the sound of law enforcement" Please, don't post until you catch on to the sarcasm. Or... wait. That's sarcasm, right?
I never knew what the 'x' ment, but, I just figured it stood for christmas, if you were too lazy to say the full name, you could just say x-mas. |

No it wasn't sarcasm,
People who don't believe in Jesus Christ take out the "christ" in "christmas" and they instead put an "x". It's really makes me angry and upset.

@Buck,
It's not because people were too lazy to write out the whole thing, it's because they don't believe in Jesus Christ.

The word “Xmas,” on the other hand, is used as an abbreviation of the word “Christmas.” The letter “X” comes from the Greek letter “chi,” the first letter in the Greek word for “Christ,” and “maesse” from the Old English word for “mass.” The word is considered as an informal form of the word “Christmas” and, as such, should not be used in formal writing. It has been in use since the year 1100 written as “Xpes maesse.” It evolved into the word “Xmas” during the middle of the 18th century.
okay not mine ^ so im not plagarising.
But it's the same deal. The Holiday Season is the season of giving, and that's how non-crazy people view it. |

I didn't get it from wikipedia. I got it from a christian website that i can't post link to because rules.
Many atheists believe x-mas takes the "Christ" out of Christmas. It does not.
It's simply a shortened method of saying it. Misguided Christians, oftenly only Christians because their parents exploited them when they were younger, believe the same. |
