pretty sure i've lived in the midwest for the first 9 years of my life (indiana) and schools always cancelled days. in fact, last year in chicago the mayor declared an emergency, i doubt they wouldn't have cancelled school days.
BTW, i've never had a school cancel days if there was a small inch of snow/rain, and i live in a warm weather climate currently.

I've never had school canceled. Even when the office at my school got flooded once.
NOT EVEN FOR THE TIME IT (SOMEHOW) HAILED.

We got over 50 inches of snow last year. I laugh at everyone who hasn't witnessed it. It's exciting at the first one of the season, especially the first storm capable of cancelling school, but yeah.

This is false.
In the Bay Area, it hasn't had real snow since the 70s. And it's true for the LA regions. the only places it really snows are yearly places like the Sierras and the inland mountains. |

"water would make it worse lol" Exactly how?
You can't tell me that dealing with heat is 100x worse than dealing with the cold. Your fingers become numb, and so do other parts of your body in extra freezing temps. In hot temps, as long as you hydrate yourself throughout the day and take it easy, you should be fine. Plus, to cool off in a car, you get cold air immediately, rather than having to wait for minutes to have the air warm up.
